So they changed the way they sell tickets to locals and I was unable to get tickets to the movies I really wanted to see including "The Darwin Awards" and the Beastie Boys thing called "I Fuckin' Shot That".

I did get to see "Subject Two" last night and I'll be seeing "Small Town Gay Bar" tomorrow. Hopefully I can get wait list tickets to Darwin on Friday.

Subject Two is a modern adaptation of Frankenstein and seemed more bent towards proving the filmmakers could make a movie on a tight budget and a tight schedule than it was an independent film full of heart. Don't get me wrong, the filmmakers did a good job, it just didn't have the edge I'm used to seeing. Don't plan on seeing this one in a theater near you but don't be surprised if director Philip Chidel, actor Dean Stapleton or DP Rich Confalone end up doing studio pics in the next couple years. And when that happens I can say that I saw them first. Big fuckin' deal. :)

I hope "I Fuckin' Shot That" is as good as I'm...um...hoping it to be.

So, Sheriff, it looks like Sundance has grown up from a nice little "Cannes", into a full-blown commercialized crap-fest. When they start screwing the locals at any event, it usually spells a bad downward spiral. Good flicks still, I guess?

*Cough*

Urm, did someone say my name?

Yes, yes, I guess it has, but what do I know, I haven't been to either. Did I say otherwise?

'A Darkness Swallowed' looks good...
