Personally i like the sound of this. The original story is a brief, uncomplicated little shocker, and with little Lovecraft overtones to sweeten things further.
It doesnt have any unneccessary subplots or annoying characters, nor is it even long enough to derail itself with an hour to go (Stand, It, Storm of the Century). Darabonts done two riproaring King stories so far, so i mean, where can it go wrong?
Well apart from the black 'n' white idea. That would not work.
