...actually wasn't that bad. I thought it was almost as good as the first one. A lot of critics bashed bothe of them. Saw and it's sequel are both mindless as hell, but sometimes it's good when a good, violent, mindless, stupid, trashy movie comes out.

I recently was able to see one of the first films by the director of Saw II- A buddy of mine went to film school with the guy and did sound design on Winter Follies... Were there a lot of useless, pointless dollie shots in the new movie? Just curious- I have no intentions of going to see it, myself.

I saw SAW I in the theater and spend 99% of it buried into my ex-boyfriends arm. Then I was irritated with it's improbability. Didn't need to see Saw II. Besides...I would have had to spend time buried into my own arm and that would give me a backache.

I didn't see SAW and I have no plans to ever see SAW2.

Only a True Saw Fan would say that RB. Clearly your raving Pro-Sawness is blinding you from the fact that Joss Whedon is a pig-fucking son of a bitch

I had this wonderful dream about putting a bunch of people in a place and alot of them ended up dying...wait a minute...sorry confusing dreams with movies again. This is worse then the time I thought I was a wizard and accidently turned my penis into a fishing pole...fucking Harry Potter.

Good one.

On a different note has anybody noticed that the plotting of Saw II came across a lot like that of Cube?

Both films had people wake up in a monotonous, lethal place in a room full of strangers, and had them try and escape by working together to avoid the traps. Both films also had a physically strong character that went awol and turned deadly because nobody was as strong as him.

Another link? Both films had the 'inside' character work with the survivors to try and escape rather than sabotage.

As for was the film any good. No. Saw II hada lot of interesting ideas that it completely ignored. A film's only as smart as its writer.
