I think I misread what you posted. I thought you were insinuating that my kids would be "paying" for the current problems when they end up in places like public school. I was reading "paying" as the non-financial sense.

It is true, all our children will be paying out the nose in the future. In my mind, one of the biggest reasons is a non-partisan one; the insane rate of ligitation. It's a culture problem. There are decent arguments pinning the cause of the culture of entitlement on the left, but it truly falls squarely in EVERYBODY'S camp of blame.

If your doctor blinks wrong at you? Sue him.
If you fall down on the ice because you were too dumb to wear sensible shoes into a restaurant? Sue the owners.
If your child is a behavior problem in school and the teacher says something that you don't like? Sue her.

Then what does happen to the astronomical amount of federal taxes I pay every month? Enlighten me...because last I checked the federal goverment takes tax dollars and then spends them on a variety of Approrpiation Bills. The largest chunk of these appropriations go to the Department of Heath and Human Services.

The weather channel will make it from the ratings they get from reporting the worst hurricanes "ever." Soon we'll be seeing little hurricane dolls and 'I survived a hurricane' t-shirts. All the money made will be split and eventually a small portion will be set a side, say $200 millon, and it will be donated to paying back the money borrowed for the Katrina Fund.
