So, Our boy has started production on Clerks 2, and so before we get ten thousand threads dedicated to the movie we could just head them off at the pass with a Clerks 2 All info thread.
So thats what this thread is for post any and all info about Passion of the Clerks in here.
I caught Kev's online journal as all of us have seen by now. I enjoyed it. The last bit of him flipping out was a trip. Anyway, Needless to say its gonna be fun to see this all unfold in front of our eyes, and then see the product.
Clerks Rd. 2 Yeehaw!!!!

I wonder if the second Clerks is going to be in black-and-white like the first one was. That would be kind of neat :)

Actually I hadnt thought of that
It wouldnt feel right if it was in color
Even the stuff from J&SBSB around the quick stop just wasnt the same

I can't find the source, but I distinctly remember Kev announcing earlier that it will have some parts b&w and some color.
Oh, and there's 2 new webdocs just put up. After the 1-post Jersey Girl diary, its nice to see him putting an effort into this web stuff, as long as it doesn't take away from the film. Oh, and the "Hooray for Hollywood" short is damned amusing.

Yeah, I know its forbidden to mention that this is actually a Kevin Smith site, but I've been keeping up with the video logs and they're all pretty awesome. The fact that the film is nearly complete... amazing. One thing though. Are they still going to use a week to hit up the old Quickstop? Even Kev knows better than to completely leave that location out of the film. Unless he's planning some crazy suprise.

Whoa...where did the gal in the middle come from? I never saw her in the first movie...
Never before has a major motion picture been cast with so many plain looking people...

Well, in response to my own question from before, Kev is visiting the NJ Secret Stash Nov. 20th to celebrate the Degrassi DVD release. Since he doesn't visit the east coast as much, I'm taking this as a sign that he's going back to the Quickstop to film sometime in the next two weeks.

i was very excited to see that they were filming clerks 2 near my house in Stanton, they turned an old Burger King into a Moobys. i kept driving by to see if i could spot kevin smith or the actors, but the fuzz kept everyone at a distance. clerks 2, sweet!

Why did he go and cast Rosario? Doesn't Kevin know I don't like her? Ugh...so unfair.

"Tuesday 22 November 2005 @ 9:25 am
We wrapped production on Friday, 11/18/05 at about 11:30 at night. The shoot really couldn’t have gone any better. Hands down, my favorite shoot of all seven. And based on the hour and fifteen minutes I’ve already cut together, it’s also - hands down - my favorite flick I’ve ever made. It knocked “Amy” out of my top-spot.
Can’t wait to show ya’ll. Thanks for the support throughout production. "
Big Words from Kev......
I hope he's right!
Me too. I hope he goes in another direction with his next film. I'm afraid that he's been scared off of doing a more "serious" film with the failure of Jersey Girl, and i hope that's not the case. It's time to put the Quickstop behind us and move forward into adulthood.

It sounds as though, Clerks 2 might be more serious than we thought. I mean, if it is replacing Amy for Kevin.
Although, Yeah, I would like Kevin to get behind another Jersey Girl like film. I have to admit I am thrilled that he is doing another Jay and Bob movie though. I mean for me , he could do 3 other films, then come back and do another Jay and Bob movie every five years just to keep checking in on them, and I would be fine with that.

I've boycotted Quicktime so I'll have to wait 'til it hits theaters. I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

So have I, but I found it on torrentspy, viola! (http://ts.searching.com/search.asp?h=&query=clerks+2&submit.x=0&submit.y=0)
Just play it on VLC player when it downloads.

Why would you boycott Quicktime?

I had to boycott Quicktime when they released version 7, which is incompatible with Windows ME/98. They can't keep me from using my ancient OS, damnit!

I hope clerks 2 will have that same "indie movie" feel that the old one did...
to me that really completed the experience to the old one...
I don't know why, but I'm just not as hyped about Clerks 2 as I thought I'd be. It's not that I have lost any respect or admiration for Mr Smith's work- far from it. But a lot of the allure for me was, that having been an aspiring filmmaker myself, I could sponge up Kevin's experiences and maybe learn how to get my (crap) out there- as well as be entertained by some most excellent & smart films (JSBSB was a helluva good-looking, funny movie, you have to admit)
But the crew I ran with back in Texas drifted apart and lost all interrest in collaboration. I had to sell my camera and most of the rest of my gear to get out here to Atlanta. (I still have my Lowell kit, though.) I've just lost any interrest in filmmaking- which was the big reason I dug Kevin's work as much as I did. I still dig it, but not in the same way I guess.
Maybe after I see Clerks 2 I can get inspired again.

PM me I got a video I need done. CD release last week in July.

I hear ya. I have a good feeling that when I get old and boring, I might absolutely hate Clerks as a movie, but still love the story behind it. The movie that made it against all odds is a huge inspiration. Here's hoping that Kev has been saving all the good stuff and not letting anything get spoiled by the trailers which have been relatively underwhelming so far (although the "catchphrase" internet short was freakin' hilarious).

I have been watching the video podcasts hoping that would inspire, but it's just been same old, same old. The commericals just aren't doing it for me either, but the longest standing ovation in Cannes history gives me hope that it is at least on par with his other projects.

It will be funny guys and gals, no worries.
I mean I know that we are getting older but come on, so is Kevin. Keep the faith!? Besides I mean everyone who has seen the movie has said that they thought it was funny as hell. It will be great.

I think we're going to start our Clerks-Mallrats-Chasing Amy-Dogma-JASBSB psuedo-marathon tomorrow night. We'll have to do a movie every 4-5 days to get ready in time for opening night.
