So can someone from the Chicago area explain this weirdness (http://www.orange32.com/grabowski/) to me?Well, it's either me or FanGirl who has to tackle this one. HEH! Tackle!
There was a time, we still are in this time, where Ditka could do no wrong in Chicago. Even a exercise video with girls in heels and a halter top.
Do any of you remember the "Super Bowl Shuffle"? Well I still have the 45 at home, but the video is the best. Nothing like watching Payton and The Fridge dance at the same time.
My favorite part...
I'm the punky QB, known as McMahon.
When I hit the turf, I've got no plan.
I just throw my body all over the field.
I can't dance, but, I can throw the pill.
I motivate the cats, I like to tease.
I play so cool, I aim to please.
That's why you all got here on the double,
To catch me doin' the Superbowl Shuffle.
So is that thing an exercise video? is it Ditka's answer to the Superbowl shuffle? It seems to be of that era...
Sorry to change the subject, but I didn't know where else to put this. Thought you all would enjoy this.
Happy Holidays!

I went to see the Dallas Symphony Orchestra do Star Wars last night. It was narrated by Anthony Daniels, what a total cutie. He had on a gold glitter jacket, which was highly appropriate.
Aside from the fact that I LOVED it, I had some very fun observations:
- I am confident that this is the first time I have seen a wookie getting a drink at the Myerson Hall bar.
- This is the first time I have been sitting near someone wearing a t-shirt, let alone one that ways "Han Shot First".
- This is the first time I have had to let someone slide a light saber under my seat
- This is the first time I have ever hear the crowd clap along, encouraged by the conductor
- This is the first time I have ever seen storm troopers doing a conga line in the aisle (this, hopefully, will be the last time I see such things)
Since I have permanent seats for the DSO I may be sad next time we go back to all mink coats, diamonds, and trophy wives. I say Bring on the People Dressed Like Ewoks! :D
- This is the first time I have had to let someone slide a light saber under my seat

So I am watching Sport Center this morning and it is the Top 10 of the week.
Just to vent before I get to the goods, the top 3 were all basketball dunks. Now for me I think that the dunk is cool to watch but it has to be the highest percentage scoring method in all professional sports. I think number one was a guy dunking over a defender who was obviously trying to draw a foul and the play just ended up looking like the defender got totally crushed. To me, big fucking whoop, these guys are almost 7 feet tall, this is not something superhuman they are doing.
The number 4 play on the other hand woke me up and had me cheering. At the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Bill Murry chips in a 90 footer for eagle. I am not a golf fan but seeing Carl Spackler make that shot had me shouting 'It's in the hole!' The odds against him hitting that are like 2,000 to 1. I mean come on, if that is not a number one on a top 10 what the hell is this world coming to.

Oh, I have stories from my football days.
Only one really. I was usually the hitter not the guy getting hit.
Anyway, I get a illegal low block put on me ( yeah the ref threw a flag), and fall down. However, I was able to knock the ball out of the RB's hand and it lands right next to me as I am getting up. Needless to say, a pile forms and all I remember is waking up in the ER. I had a sever Concussion, I dislocated my shoulder, fractured my arm in three places, and slipped a disc in my back.
I was in the hospital for weeks. I can never play again. It is without a doubt, the only reason I am not playing now. Anyway, it was fun while it lasted.

Up until recently I would have used this as a perfect excuse to say something like "That's what yis all get for playing American football instead of soccer" in a playful manner that thinly duisguised my sincerity;).
Then this happened to a Manchester United player, Alan Smith, last Saturday against Liverpool (the city where Beatles are made, for you yanks):
http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/41352000/jpg/_41352752_smithap270.jpg
The picture doesn't do the nastiness of the injury much justice, but if you use his right foot as a guideline for where the left one should be, you get the picture. Poor bastard's foot broke clean from the ankle, and he had untold ligament damage. The United physios are saying he may never play again.:(
So I guess as pussy and non-contact a sport soccer has become, it can still fuck you up.

I got up from my computer, I wandered around my house, ate an apple, turned on the radio, turned it off, ditto with the TV, changed shirts, checked that my ID and credit cards were still in my wallet...
What was it?
I walked past a mirror, I caught my reflection, my eyes shot open.
The horror settled in.
I screamed.

After discussion here at work and some tests, the most amount of points are if you save the first group and completely ignore the second. You don't want to toss them guns because you need as much as you can get. They are in dire straights.

That is Ryan Wieber's work... while he was just a fan when he made that (I think in 2002) he ended up working for Lucas Arts. He worked on a few games, including Republic Commando, KOTOR 2 and the Episode 3 movie game. He was laid off last year (I think it was) during the big Lucas Arts change effort.

This a pretty good one too (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8672065830884811559&q=%20%20light+saber).
The soundtrack and camera work aren't as good, but the fighting kicks Ryan vs. Dorkman's ass!
First of all, those guys are martial artists, so they better be good. However, due to the poor editing, special effects, and music, I just don't find it all that interesting.
I have seen pretty much every single fan lightsaber fight ever created, and out of about 300, there are four good ones.

well weiber can pretty much do some cool shit with a souble edged saber too, but during the pre-production of the video, it was decided that there would be nothing too gimmicky.
It's quit inspiring to watch, and has inspired me, I have the splinters in my hand to prove it ;) though I'm still very crap at this stage.

I am the crisis management floor leader at my work here on the 20th floor. What that means is I am trained to handle all the many crisises that could happen like injuries, fire, earthquake, etc. One of these responsiblities is having a walkie talkie at my desk and monitoring it in case anything is happening or if I need to report anything happening. So the following exchange actually word for word happened this morning:
Floor Leader 18 to Site Coordinator.
Site Coordinator here, go ahead.
Are we having a fire drill?
Negative.
So is the basement on fire then?
Negative.
Okay then.
Site Coordinator to Floor Leaders there is a false alarm in the basement.
Cracked me up. They way she asked if the basement was on fire was like she was asking if there was coffee in the kitchen. So funny. I just had to share.
Not only will you dig his style, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pq6vufmTJ9Q) but the graphics are exceptional. Really.

Today is Zen's Annual Field Trip to Buffet, where she puts on a coconut bra (which needs a t-shirt underneath because on her it looks like coconut pasties), grabs the rum, and heads out for 10+ hours of drinking with the Fort Worth Parrothead Club.
:D Rain or shine!

"You don't have to spend the whole time listening to Jimmy Buffett do you?" is what I originally was going to type...then I realized that by "Buffet" you meant "Buffett."
I think we've been through this before but, I can't stand the man's music, nor his fans. I guess I have to add you to the list. http://mp-shoot.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif
