So, its been forever since I posted on this site. Partly because well I just didnt have time for it. Nothing interesting has happend to me so no one missed out. But I just had to vent about this.
Hollywood needs to stop making comic book movies. Im done, finished, finito. I dont need anymore. I dont want any more. They are getting so cookie cutter its not even funny. I dont think Hollywood has made an original concept movie all summer(Stealth and Episode III are like the only two original movies I can think off). Now Im not an indie film person at all. I love big budget, special effects, shitty plot and explosions galore as much as the next guy. But I miss that feeling of adventure you get when you go see a movie you have no concept about. Sure its great to get to see you favorite comics on film, but that joy you got when you found out that the comic you love is going to be on film is gone. Theres no guessing any more. You know that its going to happen. For some reason I dont like this. I want to see Action and Sci-fi movies that arent based on some shitty 70's show. I wanna see some action movie that doesnt have tom cruise in it lol. But in the end I wanna see a movie that I know what its about, not because i used to watch the show, but because I spent every waking minute on the website getting information because I thought the quicktime preview was awesome. anyone else feel me on this?
P.S. Im lazy and at work, you dont like my typos and misspelling, keep it to yourself.
I feel ya. Comic book movies are getting old, just as reality tv. Soon people we become so bored with Hollywoods re-makes and do-overs that they will have to actually hire creative people to write movies again. Until then, I'll be sitting by the phone awaiting my call. ;)
Oh, and someone here mentioned it before, and I'm still waiting for it, but Mirrormask looks like it'll be a really good movie. The website says coming in September 2005 or something. I think it looks awesome and can't wait to see it. I don't think it's based on a comic book, then again I don't know every comic there is...

You've taken your first step into a larger world. Really , you should check out more indy films, I'll trade an original idea and good acting for glitzy CGI any day.

What ? Dude , expand your horizons, Hollywood isn't going to stop making predictable cookie cutter bullshit as long people are buying tickets to it.

Feel you ? I'm way ahead of you. Eight of my ten favorite movies of the past five years didn't come from Hollywood.

I don't understand why people become so upset by unoriginal movies. Just don't go to see them. This is like when people drive themselves angry about gay marriage or porn in a game where you murder cops and hookers.
Just don't engage and you won't be affected.

Amen, brother Razorback. Amen.

Are there actually games like that? I guess I've been missing alot since I stopped upgrading my nintendo/playstation systems.

Depends on the payscale and who will miss them.
I just read on the News Askew site that Richard Kelly, the guy that did Donnie Darko, is going to start filming Southland Tales soon.
That sounds like good news to me. I'm excited, pretty sweet.

BTW, I wanna point out there are indie movies out there I liked alot. Amelie(spelling check), 28 days later, PI, Pulp Fiction and my favorite indie film of all time CLERKS!!!!!!!!
What I meant by saying I wasnt an indie film guy is that I dont go Hollywood bashing on the weekend, if you get my drift.
Also to answer Razorback, I agree, if you dont like something, dont engage in it. But when the box office is completely littered with unoriginal thought, Instead of avoiding the stupid movies, I have to avoid the theatre all together, and that blows.

I misread and was trying to think of a game with game marriage, technically there was a part in fallout that had a shotgun wedding but I'm sure that wouldn't count.
Metal Gear solid 3 is probably closer to home with it's more obvious Story involving The second most important villain character and his Gay Eunich lover.

Couldnt you pimp out your wife in Fallout 2. God that was a great game. Its funny how much fuss there making about GTA, but Fallout had someshit that would make Hillary flip the fuck out.
