I mean, to get the new Harry Potter? I haven't read any of the books yet, but my brothers are dragging me along, and I have to say, I'm interested to see if anyone dresses up, and what types of people are this crazy about the book, if there is a distinct cross segment of the populace that is avid enough to wait until midnight...
So, who's going? Who's seeing something tonight? If you're catching a flick, what is it, and was it good? I need to know, because I can only *maybe* afford one movie to see in the theater in the next month. I missed Crash (in my area, and I could hurt something for it), and everything since then seems like something that I can wait until the library gets it on DVD. Anyway, let a brother know. Come on, talk it up, folks!

I've only recently read the last Harry Potter book so I think I can wait till it hits the reduced table before I buy this one.
If I were you and could only see one film it would be Batman Begins.

Actualsize and I took our kids to the local Borders Books for a "Harry Potter Party." It was pretty lame -- coloring pages and free Everyflavor Beans and that was about it. The kids in costume were pretty lame, too. Shelby wore her timeturner and pink sweater, and even put her watch on the wrong hand, but I don't think anyone noticed she was trying to be Hermione.
I took the little one home around 9:30. The other two haven't come home yet, and it's 10:15, so maybe it got better.

The other two haven't come home yet, and it's 10:15, so maybe it got better.Even though we couldn't get a number because we were at the 'con all day (Out local Borders gave them out while we were in San Diego), we went there anyway when we got home, as Gotherella said. They gave us #209, but told us not to get our hopes up. I had a 20oz cuppa coffee, and Shelby had a "Potter Potion", which helped us wile away the time until the books came out at 11:59. After a slow start, our number got called at 12:48 or so, and we got out book! Sure we could have bought it the next morning at the supermarket, but after a day at the 'con where we attended the Harry Potter panel and saw an extended trailer/clip from Goblet, Shelby was too geeked up to NOT go and get the book ASAP!
I've only read the first 10 pages (Shelby won't let me near it), but I'm already hooked by a new twist that has not shown up in the others.
