Awww, that's not too old.

But come on! I was supposed to pick her up at 8, ahd she was going to wear red spandex!! Instead I got drunk and passed out in the bathtub. (Empty)I am sooooo sorry. See, there was this terrible traffic jam, and then a huge thunk, and a tanker truck blew up (sadly, this is quite common lately in Dallas), and then the locusts came, frogs fell from the sky, and the first born child of all people in the tri-state region went into hiding. Of couse, I being an only child, had to be extra careful. The bunker I holed up in did not have a phone...so I couldn't call.

But I wanted to. I just came out of hiding right now. Really. Just now...that's my story and I am sticking to it. Don't bother to check the news...they decided the report would scare the rest of the country so it won't be on. In fact, someone might be listening right now. We had better act like it didn't happen. [Looks around nervously]

See ya' ina few!!That was you? I thought I had a really interesting new bathmat. I chalked it up to another episode of drunk shopping, in which I actually think something from Urban Outfitters will go with my home.

It's happened before. Really.

Of course, if you bring the hippie van we can all go out together, find a field, listen to St. Stephen, and talk about how the man is bringing us all down.

Well Yeeehaaa for me. How's about going to Deep Ellum for some good live music and then to one of the wonderful gentlemen's clubs out on Northwest Hwy. Buy ya a few lap dances, knock nasties under a table, and then see where it goes from there? :p And by the way LSD always stood for Lead Singer Disease in my circles. Those are some cocky bastards right there.

Those are some cocky bastards right there.I caught Ryan Adams at the Gypsy Tea Room in Deep Ellum a month ago. Good stuff. We do get some great live music between Dallas and Ft. Worth.

As for the clubs on NW Hwy, my assistant got me to go to The Men's Club with them for her husbands 40th birthday party. I was suprised at how the facility was, considering the function it serves. Of course, The Lodge is always a personal favorite of 99% of my male friends. I cannot say how that one is. One thing that shocked me was how much you can touch the strippers. In Chicago if you touched a stripper in anyway your hands would be broken.

Never really been into strip clubs, myself. Waste of money.I would concur. I believe it was Robbo who once said that everybody there "wants to believe the lie". You know, that she really is working her way through medical school and he will go home with you if you give her enough money to help her sick child get insurance.

I used to be super-cool about my boyfriends going to strip clubs. Lately my feelings have changed.

One - it was a waste of money, and that money is better spent at Tiffany's buying me a nice new set of earrings. I can guarantee he will get action after that investment :0).

Two - There is something in the back of my mind that makes the guy look a little pathetic. You have to pay to get a girl to take her clothes off and there is just this EWW factor for me now. I can't figure out what changed my mind about it. I just see a guy as a little less attractive afterward. Go figure.

I'm not a fan of Strip Clubs. I went ONCE, just ONCE. Most of the girls are not attractive enough to pay to look at. I'd rather go to a bar and pick up a drunk girl and take it from there. ;)

I've never been to a strip club either, but my female friends used to have this crazy idea. When their guy friends would go they would go, buy a lapdance, and get free drinks from other patrons the rest of the night and share with their guy friends. Can't beat free alcohol.

The bigger cities always attract the prettier girls. The Clubhouse in Dallas(owned by Vinnie and Dimebag(R.I.P., brother) of Pantera) is home to some of the most be-you-tiful girls in the world. It's a totally nude club and there is not a dog to be found. Went with my wife and another couple about 10 years ago after a Pantera show. The band was upstairs, we were all partying and having a hella-good time. My wife turns to me and said "These are the most gorgeous girls I've ever seen." And she ain't into girls that way(sorry to say ;) ). But she didn't even notice the girls were totally nude on stage until I mentioned it. Some mighty fine ladies making their home in Texas, and that's damn fine by me.

why can I now hear "all my exes live in texas" running in the background at your house

Never really been into strip clubs, myself. Waste of money. That seems to be the consensus. I've been twice, brother-in-law's bachelor party, and once with my sister and her husband. The former, I spent watching the Lakers play the Kings and the latter I was creeped out at being at a strip club with my sis. A little too incestuous for my liking. If you are going to the club with "the guys," it is fine, but going by yourself is nothing but pathetic.

No way toots. If there is one thing never and I do mean NEVER heard in any house I've ever owned, it's that got-daymed C&W music. Closest thing to it would be some bad-ass Neil Young stuff.

Were you watching the 80's movie marathon the other night on (I think) AMC? I caughted The Blues Brothers too. Given where FanGirl and I are from that movie has a special place in my heart.

When I was in college I danced on the bar at Tequila Roadhouse to Sweet Home Chicago. A classic. There is one bar we go to here that has the soundtrack on the jukebox. I always put on S.H.C., or Shake Your Tailfeather.

Absotutely. It's weird, I think that movies from the 80's aren't old enough to be classics...then I realize that a quarter of a century probably is long enough. We're getting too old.

How was the accoustic set? The wife wants to go, but doesn't want to pay the $59 to go.

How was the accoustic set? The wife wants to go, but doesn't want to pay the $59 to go.I went to college a year early, so it came out in what should have been my senior year in high school, but really was my freshman year in college.

Overall I enjoyed the show, but SO much of Jagged Little Pill was based on rants, and there is no ranting, and we might not be the better for it. Certain songs deserve to be pissy in delivery. Not the Doctor comes to mind.

You Outta Know, done acoustically, was even more creepy than the orignal. It went from angered ranting to flat out evil stalking. In the back of the set they have flames in the window and you feel like she is 2 seconds from grabbing a rabbit and finding a place to boil.

She included one of my favorite songs from the second album, Hands Clean. However, I would have liked to hear Uninvited.

At first it seemed cool, but after a while you just really want her to rock out. If you want to hear it, get the disc at Starbucks, in my opinion.

However, Jason Mraz opened for her and was great. I have never listened to him before. Not only is he talented but he puts on a show too, making the crowd laugh and be impressed all at the same time. Bass Performance Hall is considered one of the finest opera houses in the world, and when he broke into some random aria his voice just blew the crowd away.

jjcourtright

I'd be pretty disappointed that she didn't play Uninvited. That's my favorite song by her. If she was doing just Jagged Little Pill stuff, then I would accept it, but playing Hands Clean would have just led to me being pissed off.

I've only heard Jason Mraz' singles, but I really like them. They're quite fun to sing along to. I've heard him do the National Anthem, and it was killer.
