OKay, last week I was "swarmed" by a large group while walking home. If you are not familar with the term "swarmed" let me quickly explain. It's more or less a group mugging, when a group of muggers violently jump and assault their "mark". Well, I was a viictim of such an attack.
I need to get surgery done on my jaw. It has been fractured in the angle on the left side. This requires a metal plate to be inserted with pins into my face. All depending on the success of the operation they may decide during the operation to wire my jaw shut.
My question is...Did this happen to anyone here on this boards? I have more. What did you eat to keep your weight up (I lost 20 pounds in one week) while your mouth was shut. Something your Dr. didn't know about but you found very effective. I'm going to be off work for quite awhile because I'm an instructor and talking is my job, so wired jaw,no work. This means I'm going to be home alot for the next couple of weeks. If anyone can help me I would love to hear from your experiences. Thank you for your consideration.

I live in a white suburbia, so nope can't say this has ever happen to me. Sorry. They'll probably give you something you can drink through a straw when you go to the hospital. You'll probably also be put on so much pain medicine you won't give a damn.
Man that sucks. I hope you gave as good as you got. I've never been involved in one as far as being a victim. I broke one up way back when I used to be a cop. My only advice would be to buy a high power blender and some bendy straws, not so much for function as for the ascethet... asthet... looks... (I just got off work and I'm too tired to spell)
Look at it this way, more time to hang out on the 'shoot. Welcome aboard.

I'm on some painkillers right now. They told me they'd give me a diet plan to follow ,but I was looking for a home remedy kind of deal for a high fat drink that they used. Thanks for the help.

Best of luck. Where do you live that you were attacked in this manner, by the way? I've never had my jaw wired shut, but if you have to have your gallbladder out, I'd be happy to offer advice.
Personally, I'd use this as an excuse for lots of milkshakes especially if you can get butterscotch milkshakes....mmmm....butterscotch...... sorry, I'm still on a strict diet.

When I was trying to put on weight, the doc told me to drink Ensure or Instant Breakfast and add some "weight gain" powder. Also, lots of eggs, though I'm not sure how you'd eat them....maybe egg drop soup?

How about those weight gaiing protein powders? Yeah, they are kind of expensive, and probably yucky tasting, but I thought they were designed to put on weight.

Interesting you should mention those. My sister recently had a tonsillectomy, and while recovering she drank the yucky protein drinks. Only she added a little Ovaltine to the mix to take away the nasty taste. She says it worked like a charm.

Hellubah's horrible situation
No, glad to say no too, but there is a current situation here where thugs as young as twelve upwards are gang beating up people for no reason and vidcapping it on their mobiles to pass around to other people.

I live in Halifax , Nova Scotia, Canada. It has become a real problem here. I read about it in the paper and thought nothing of it. I was walking home late from work last weekend then...well you know the rest. Hell of a world we live in.

When I was in Halifax a few years ago, there was so much fog I couldn't see the road in front of me! I can see how an area like that would be dangerous.

This is a long shot but do you know where The Metro Centre is?
The "incident" occured right out side of it. It's safe to say that I'll be taking cabs or carpooling from work from now on, especially when I'm working late.
I hoped you enjoyed your stay and that this doesn't discourage you from visiting again in the future. I can take you to the "apple barrel" at 4 am for a "belly buster".
