i'm going to send you an email that says something to the effect of "take your spam and kindly stick it up your deadmans chest". We have several people who review comics on this site, you could give them a copy to review then bring the discussion to the board, instead of just spamming us, but that's just me.

Gentlemen (and lady viewers) I appreciate your concern about spamming. As a moderator of an online forum myself, I know where you're coming from. In actuality the book is already in the hands of a Movie Poop Shoot reviewer, and we would be using this same thread to further discussion about the book. It is not an attempt for "hit and run" spam. My apologies that it appears so. Dave (or other moderator). If you deem this thread to be mere spam, my apologies, and please remove the post. I didn't wish to ruffle any feathers by discussing the issue on a public forum. Please feel free to PM me with any questions or concerns. The "deadmanschest" email address is monitored by the creator of the book, not myself.

Thanks.

Scott Closter

I think they gave it to Marc Mason so it would really go under his column, not Scott's but yes. I would also like to apologize if i came of harsh at all, but really first post spam isn't that cool. No harm no foul however. I just wish i knew the email didn't go to you, Scott, before i fired one off.

That's OK Dave, I talked to Dwight (the writer) to explain the situation, so all is cool, I think he was a bit taken aback at first, hee hee. Again though if this thread is out of place, feel free to move it or whatever seems best to you. I do see how it would appear to be spamming, especially from a first time poster, I'll consider it a lesson learned. :) Hopefully tonight I'll be browsing through the rest of the columns here, Dwight comes here quite often and told me to come check things out.

It's this book that in a round about way got me working with Dwight and the other fellas.

My favorite part of Pirates Of The Caribbean - "Boys, take a walk" and there we have the undead crew making there way toward the ship. The mini-series is like that (for me at least). Well, it goes deeper obviously, but I think you catch my drift.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We pillage plunder, we rifle and loot.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We extort and pilfer, we filch and sack.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
Maraud and embezzle and even highjack.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We kindle and char and in flame and ignite.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
We burn up the city, we're really a fright.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

We're rascals and scoundrels, we're villians and knaves.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
We're devils and black sheep, we're really bad eggs.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

We're beggars and blighters and ne'er do-well cads,
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
Aye, but we're loved by our mommies and dads,
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

I'm sure they did (from captured British ships) but rum was prevalent in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Pyracy to this day since it is made from sugar cane; which is also prevalent in the Caribbean isles.
Whereas, whiskey is made from corn... the Caribbean isles aren't big for their corn production. ;)

HOPE @ Wizard World Chicago
For Immediate Release

In 2004, a massive tsunami washed through much of coastal Asia, killing hundreds of thousands while wiping out towns and villages. The destruction was so massive that relief work continues to this day. Shortly after this event, creators came together at Ronin Studios to produce a comic book anthology called HOPE to support the Red Cross’s tsunami disaster relief efforts. The charity benefit book will debut this August 4th through the 7th at Wizard World Chicago!

HOPE is a $5 (benefiting the Red Cross), sixty-page tour de force featuring some of the hottest creators in comics:

Ron Marz (Writer/Editor – Green Lantern, Samurai, Sojourn)
Mike Bullock (Writer – Lions, Tigers and Bears, Gimoles)
Jack Lawrence (Artist – Lions, Tigers and Bears, Darkham Vale)
Theo Bain (Artist – Gimoles)
James Woodward (Artist – Fallen Angel, Crazy Mary)
Chris Fason (Artist – Hero Happy Hour)
Sean O’Reilly (Writer – Kade, Ezra, El Arsenal, The Assassin)
Dwight L. MacPherson (Writer – Dead Men Tell No Tales)
Mike Fiorentino (Artist – Dead Men Tell No Tales)
Jessi Embry (Cover Artist – ANT, Ezra)

To offer an added spotlight to this project, Arcana Studio has produced a limited edition HOPE #1 Wizard World Chicago variant cover featuring Arcana’s Ezra dueling with Sir Francis Drake (of Dead Men Tell No Tales) as rendered by Arcana cover artist Jessi Embry! This book is limited to 100 copies with every sell helping those in need!

All proceeds from the regular and limited editions of HOPE #1 will go to support the Red Cross. The regular edition will be available at the Ronin Studios booth, with the limited edition available at the Arcana Studio booth. We look forward to seeing you there!

Thank you for your help, it is appreciated!
