Star Wars will drop off after this weekend but it will be in the top 3 after this summer.
Batman Begins could chalenge War of the Worlds for the top spot, IMO..
Fantastic 4 will have a nice opening but it looks to be a stinker.

I get the feeling that Batman will not receive the support some think it will... but hey, you never know. I think WOTW could kick some major ass at the box office.

I thought it looked bad but the last trailer kind of got me interested again.

That comment explains everything so clearly. You're an idiot.

This last comment proves yet again how you think that your opinion is not an opinion but fact. You truly believe that anything you think is right and that anything anyone else thinks is wrong if it doesn't agree with your line of thinking.
Thank you for making it so clear. I hate when your type pretends to be objective. You are the most transparent moron I have argued with in a long time. I am betting that your IQ is a bit low.

Broken record, you're boring me. That wasn't my opinion. Your behaviour and argument is enough for me to state a fact that you are truly an idiot.

I know I'm setting myself up for a bashing here, but Batman troubles me- just saw the theatrical trailer last weekend, and it didn't look very good. Does ANY of the movie take place in Gotham City?

That's the next movie. This one takes place entirely in Tibet.

The actual Batman stuff is the second half of the movie. It's Batman Begins. It's all about his training. I have every faith in Nolan to give me a good Batman movie.

Yeah. My core Fantastic Four love is based on the John Byrne era, so I'll always see Sue as more of a mother figure, than a hot "twenty-something".

Did I mention I'm psychic too?
I don't know about Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Fanny. I think there is going to be some backlash against Angelina for breaking up Brad and Jenn, and it's going to hurt the box office for that movie.

That kills me about Angeline being blamed. It's not like she tied Brad down and forced him...oh wait..that probably is what happened.
It'll still do good box office because people will want to see what broke them up. It's not like a Bennifer movie.
i dissagree, i feel like people will stay away because they don't want to see the two together. I think it would have had huge boxoffice before.

Yes, but look at the numbers Cleopatra did. That movie broke up a marriage back when it was a true scandal so much so the Catholic church banned the movie because of the divorce and not because of the movie itself. People still wanted to see.
It was also a historical epic that had been shot for the most money ever at the time. Cleopatra was the "Titanic" of it's time. Mr. and Mrs. Smith is just another action flick.
anyway, we'll end up seeing in a few months. I don't know a single person who is talking about that movie with antisipation. I do know a few who have said something to the effect of "I wanted to see this movie, until that skank broke up Brad and Jen.."

Gotherella and I both saw the trailer, and we'll be there. I want hot summer action on my movie list, regardless of who did what to whom to get it there.

I'll be there and a bunch of other people I know have been talking about it. It looks like a fun action movie to get out of the heat to see.

Two exceedingly hot people trying to kill each other. Shit blowing up and guns, guns, and more guns. What's not to like? I'm definitely looking forward to it.
Harry Potter is the movie with the built-in money -- might be hard to top it.

I am betting that they only try to kill each other for about ten minutes of the movie and then decide to join forces. I doubt that this is going to be a modern day, more explosive, The War of the Roses.

1> SW3
2> War of the Worlds
3> Charlie and The Chocolate Factory
4> Mr. & Mrs. Smith
5> Chronicles of Narnia
6> Harry Potter
7> King Kong
8> Brothers Grimm
9> Serenity
10> Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
This is my list for $$$ from now til the end of the year. I know you asked for Summer, but that would make me have to type Batman and Fantastic Four in there and as much as it pains me, I would rather type the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Star Wars is a shoe-in for #1. The only Star Wars movie that didn't completely dominate its year of release was AOTC, and that's due to Spiderman, which made a ridiculous amount of money. Then again, AOTC pulled in over $300 million, which isn't really a defeat.

Well, when you account for inflation, AOTC was a financial disaster... for a Star Wars movie. Revenge could easily drop off big time after the first two weeks. However, unless Sandler's movie pulls in a huge crowd then Star Wars won't have any big challenger until middle of June. So it could very well make some serious cash.
My conservative estimate is that it will make $340 million. My liberal estimate is that it will make $500 gazillion. ;)

I'm guessing that Willy Wonka and Fantastic Four will have the most power over the box office this summer. I am personally looking forward to both immensely.

I can't imagine anything outgrossing ROTS
But I am definitely giving some of my $$ to
Charlie and The Chocolate Factory
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Chronicles of Narnia
Harry Potter
Harry Potter has the best chance of catching ROTS, IMHO.

Surely... but I think the movie was ruined for me by the trailer. I know the point where they team up. I just hate when the trailer takes the fun out of things.
