View Full Version : Changes
I just went flower picking and I have to say that the daisy is no longer my favorite flower. The lilac has taken it's place. I have some in a cup of water on my desk and they smell wonderful.
The daisy has been my favorite for a long time, mainly because I liked the simplicity of it's white petals and yellow center, but today I have realized that the lilac is my favorite because of it's fragrance and little bundle of flowers each with it's four little petals (Four also is my favorite number so it only seems more obvious to accept the lilac my favorite.)
As I have realized this small change, I was just wondering if anyone else has recently realized any new changes of themselves?

I've recently switched back to a conventional golf swing. I am working on changing my grip as well. I'm hoping to get a lower trajectory. Boring?
You asked. :p

I just actually started going through a process of spiritual renewal.... and I also have recently taken steps to try to get custody of my son.

I've got all kinds of changes going on right now. Aside from the physical and health columns, I'm trying to wear more skirts and slowly girl up a bit more. I also started wearing sunglasses. For some reason, I never liked them before, but now I don't know how I lived without them.

I'm learning to play the bass guitar, which is difficult for me. I rarely come up against something that causes me true frustration -- it has definitely been good for me to work through it.
And I'm trying to cut back on the Coca-Cola. It's so hard to let go of something you love.

I'm coo-coo for rabbit poo!
Ok, I'll stop. I used to eat Cocoa-Puffs all the time too. I stopped when I was trying to eat all organic, which is just too expensive for me right now. I'm intimidated to get back into eating the C-Puffs because you have to toughen that upper-palette callous. You can't just jump into the C-Puffs with a tender mouth, or Captain Crunch for that matter. If you do, it's over. Might as well have poured milk over a bowl of broken glass.

Ah, thank you for suggesting my new breakfast! As soon as I find time, I'll go buy me some Cap'n.
Maybe this belongs in the Worst Person in the World thread, but is it wrong for me to go to the comic shop instead of the grocery store? My kids can eat ramen noodles for another day, right?
I'd say it's fine, as long as you come back here an discuss what you bought tomorrow. You could always swing by the store after though, right?

Just be certain its not fruity. I made that mistake once before, long ago, and I am still emotionally scared to this day. Nothing like expecting a big bowl of goodness and then pouring out...

That's pretty much all one of them eats anyway. I'll go with no, it's not wrong. Just make sure you got some comics for them, too.

Well as long as you don't rub any raw meat on it, you should be safe.

I was gonna leave it at that, but that darned 10 character rule would've crept up.

As I have realized this small change, I was just wondering if anyone else has recently realized any new changes of themselves?I for the most part gave up drinking caffeine about two months ago. I cheated on Monday as I was just exhausted(stayed up til 6:30 Sunday morning arguing politics with my crazy Libertarian uncle)...but other than those 12 ounces of Dr. Pepper, I've been a water and beer drinking machine.
We just realized this week that we have lilacs growing on our ponderosa. Until they started blooming...and smelling up the yard, we had no idea what they were.

Oh, I forgot. My parents are probably getting a divorce. Apparently they don't like each other...I guess I've always been way to caught up in myself to notice.

Bummer, but at least you're grown up ( well sort of ) and out of the house.

When times were bad growing up, I'm sure they stayed together for the kids. Now, I want them to stay together for the grandkids. I don't want to have to drag the kids to three(including my in-laws) houses every holiday. Plus, how do I explain to the three-year-old why Nana and Grandpa used to live together, but don't anymore. It stinks.
Aw, that sucks jj.
If your kids are anything like you, then they are probably pretty smart and will be able to understand. Sorry you have to break it to them.
Parents staying together for the kids, is not always a good thing. I remember wishing my parents would split up. Especially after finding out from friends in school how normal families are supposed to behave. It took me until the third grade to realize that parents usually sleep in the same room together and aren't supposed to bring home dates.
