If you haven't heard of the band Autolux (http://www.autolux.net/) yet, they are on tour with the Ravonettes. Just saw them last night, and Autolux is phenomenal. They do things with guitars I didn't know were possible, and Carla, the drummer is Keith Moon reincarnate.

Check out their album Future Perfect, or if they end up near your town, it's deffinitely worth seeing them live.

They were so good, that half of the crowd left three songs into the Ravonettes set. Then again, the Ravonettes only have three songs.

EDIT: For the kids in the Austin area (and I know there's a few of you out there) Autolux will be playing on the 17th, which is Tuesday I believe. Go, see, now.

I a-purr-she-ate the heads up, brolio, but THE MAN is sending me out of town next week. Because of our talk Friday eve, I get to come back Wednesday night. Then leave again Thursday night .

Oh and there are "a few of us" ? Who are these others you speak of ?
I know D-town has a couple, one of whom seems to never post anymore. But that's a good 3 and a half , four hour drive.

Shouldn't this go in the thread about conservative fanatics who have sex with animals and other inanimate objects?

So now you're accusing those Georgianers of practicing necrophelial bestiality? Come on now...

Yeah, i resemble that remark.

Oh, and to get slightly back on target, i saw Fishbone on Saturday Night and have to say that those guys still put on one hell of a show.

Nice. I've always wanted to check out one of their shows. Wasn't there a change in the band lineup? Do you know how many of the original members are still in the band?

I saw The Black Crowes and Gov't Mule recently, both were fantastic.

I'll second that. I think it was last year we saw them. They opened for Dave Wakeling's version of the Beat. Fishbone totally kicked ass, but we walked out on Wakeling -- sucksville. It's amazing that the guys in Fishbone still rock that hard -- they haven't lost a molecule of rockness.

X is an X-cellent live show. See them while you still can.

The Beat Farmers were great live too - sucked on albums, but excellent live.

By the time of the last studio album I bought (2000), they were down to the two vocalists and the bass player, as far as original members went.
