Wasn't it one E. Cartman who said, when watching one R. Smith battle with a 50 ft tall Barbra Streisand, "The Cure Disintegration is like the best album ever!!"

But Mr. Cartman has been shown to be full of shit on many occaisions. The real Greatest Album Ever is, of course, The Clash: London Calling.

Actually, I think it was Kyle, or maybe Stan. Bah-boo-rah, bah-boo-rah!

But I thought the contest for best album ever ended in a three-way tie between London Calling, Dark Side of the Moon, and Led Zeppelin IV. (And yes, we are showing our age here...)

Oh, that's easy. It's the same people that realized that people who like Led Zeppelin are grandpas or of grandpa age, and they are trying to market to their audience.

Oh, and the other night, I saw a freshly botoxed, blonde-haired, Roger Daltry hawking some "Sounds-of-your-childhood-so-you-can-relive-all-of-your-teenage-years-because-god-knows-your-life-sucks-now-you-old-coot" CD collections on an info-mercial. Roge isn't allowed to play "My Generation" anymore.

Also missed Green Day, which I hear are FANTASTIC in concert, but I guess that's up for individuals to decide.

The only concert I've ever been to was a CKY concert in St. Andrews Hall in Detroit, it was dirty, smelly, hot, and cramped, but damn if it wasnt the most fun time I ever had with my HS buddies.

So, this guy http://www.abc-kid.com/blues/pictures/tn_010_jpg.jpg left his hugely popular show to record a fabled album with Flaming Lips drummer, Steve Drozd. It has been widely rumored that the album is amazing, and after I finally found a copy of http://www.steveswebpage.com/media/img/SongsForDustmites.jpg I am happy to report that this legendary album is indeed fantastic. Of course, don't take my word for it. Go to http://www.steveswebpage.com listen for yourself.

Yeah, the thing is, we tried that once with a supposed showing of the Kill Bills at the Union, however, we were drunk, and couln't find the room it was showing in.

Plus, OSU is a bastard when it comes to drinking underage, and since I'm trying to be an RA next year, if I got caught I'd be SOL for the position. Plus, my mom would somehow find out, and then kill me.

slizzelizzel
05-11-2005, 02:16 PM
That was a bit different, it was around adults, with supervision, and no chance of getting caught.

Wandering around OSU at 2 in the morning drunk off my ass would NOT be okay with her...plus, she was kinda mad after the wedding that I drank so much. (To the point of accusing me of doing drugs)

Oh, man. So you should be going to concerts instead of drinking, see? Here's your schedule: http://www.ouab.net/index.php?page=2

Ooh, and it looks like the Mythbusters are coming to Ohio State -- that might be fun. http://www.ouab.net/index.php?page=event_info&number=91

And they're doing a free screening of Sith: http://www.ouab.net/index.php?page=event_info&number=118

See, plenty to do instead of getting drunk (or in addition to...)

slizzelizzel
05-11-2005, 02:30 PM
Yeah, the mythbusters thing looked pretty cool, and I'm going to attempt to get the free Sith tickets, but that's not likely to happen (it is at 7:00 in the morning).
That's the first I've heard of a free Floggin Molly concert, tho! That would be pretty cool.

BTW - a tip for those of you still in college: Volunteer for whatever group puts on shows at your school. I did "hospitality" for USC concerts (basically ordered food and put it out on tables) and ended up hanging out back stage with many cool bands. I even got to eat pizza and play baseball with the Ramones!

I miss college sometimes.
