Check this review out, from AICN. (http://aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=20185)

This writer hated the last two prequels and really digs on ROTS. Also, completely gushes about Serenity. So the two enemies can come together, in one review, and see how someone on the planet can actually love both. ;)

Two weeks? Shouldn't you have already pulled some strings to see this baby? ;)

Yeah, if the people who hate the new series are going nuts then I know I don't think there will be a movie to top this one.

At least not this year but possibly ever.

That's not necessarily conclusive, because every time I see Ebert and Roper or Joe Blow movie critic highly acclaim some new movie, I'm usually cynical.

With this though, with THIS, Episode freakin' III, Revenge of the Sith, you're right--everyone's pants are going to be blown off, and there will be much rejoicing--I can FEEL it! It's going to be beautiful! I might even have to buy an extra copy on DVD to frame...

Razorback

Oh don't worry... if Revenge gets too much positive press then in a few years the Internet dipshits will be calling it the worst movie ever made (you know like a little movie called TITANIC).

I just think Vonzelle is really, really good- I'd pay to see her, but I couldn't care less about Bo. There's probably some bias there- I really hate that Bo parts his hair in "butt-crack" fashion. I'm not discouting his voice.

whats not to like, it had guns (well one) nudity, no bad language, but lots of death in various entertaining ways, and irish dancing.

On a sidenote, I'm still very seriously pissy about people hating yoda ziplining all over the place, but can suspend their belief of the many impossible maneauvers the other jedis pull off in the Clone wars cartoon but can't do half as fast, as impressive, or even at all, in the movies.

Animation as a medium provides it's own suspension of disbelief. Not that I had a problem with Yoda zipping around. It was one of the more enjoyable moments of the film , it was good to see Yoda back up his reputation as a badass.

Blecch- I hated Yoda's fighting style. No explanation, it just looked too cartoonish for me. A pure matter of taste.

I just think Vonzelle is really, really good

So that means you need to crap on a guy who is ten times more talented? Please, you are just a part of the "Vonzelle is hot" crowd. She has a good voice and good stage presence. Bo has a great voice and great stage presence. He is the real deal, a pro.

I am not 12... I am not a girl... I am not even gay. I am just a musician who knows talent when he sees it. The best singers in this competition are Bo and Carrie (I think that is her name, the blondie). The best performer is Bo followed by Vonzelle.

Vonzelle is very pitchy and is sometimes a little "fake" in her performance (trying to seem natural when it is planned).

Bo knows his voice and uses it in the best way possible. Hell, the guy even knows how to best get out of a pitchy moment (he just bails out of the line). He never seems to be performing... everything he does seems like it is spontaneous.

Carrie (or whatever her name is, the country gal) has an incredible voice. I can't even remember her being pitchy or needing to bail on a line. However, she is STIFF AS A BOARD! She never seems natural...

I couldn't care less about Bo.

The thing is, Vonzelle is the one I think would fit best as a winner of this competition. She has the looks, the voice, and the ability to perform. She isn't great at any of it (well, except the looks) but she does it all better than most good singers. However, she is bettered by the pro that is Bo (hey, rhyme!). Also, Carrie (or whatever the hell her name is) will destroy her when it comes down to pure vocals.

We will see how tonight goes... if there is a God then Clay beta v.005 will get booted.

Hey, I didn't really crap on Bo- there's no accounting for taste...but I DO think Vonzelle is attractive, and personable! That said, Bo seems like a pretty genuine and nice guy, too.

I just happen to be of the opinion that most of American Idol's target demographic would be very likely to vote for Bo, as opposed to someone that is phenotypically very much like last year's winner- that's all.

Razorback
05-10-2005, 06:44 PM
The thing is, I don't get how you think that Bo appeals to little girls and housewives. Little girls probably identify more with the ladies than Bo. Housewives probably like the Clay wannabe. Bo represents everything that American Idol isn't. He is genuine. The whole idea of Idol is to present some version that people will like. Bo just belts it out, kicks ass and doesn't appologize for any of it (hell, he was up front about his trouble with the law, no one had to hunt him down for it).

I think that my "final three" will all get signed and do well. Now lets wait and see that wannabe win it all! :D

Actually, the jean-creaming crowd was probably mostly voting for Constantine or Anthony...but he's gone now, and Bo is closer to Constantine than the other contestants.

I base my opinion on what my wife tells me about Bo, so there's that. She COULD be wrong, however unlikely.

Because Constantine had long hair? That guy was no rocker. He was as fake as they come. He should make a pop album.

If she tells you that he gets votes because little girls and old women dig him then I am betting she is wrong. Bo gets votes because he earns them.

You got that right. Or sing on Broadway, maybe.

Well, SHE was referring to Constantine, I'M the one that equates Constantine with Bo, and that equation is based on looks, which are pretty much meaningless. I mean, look at Ruben.

He's just jealous, because I think Bo is hot. And will win. If there's any justice in the world. If not, Vonzelle or Carrie Stepford Wife will win.

I'm a card-carrying housewife with a huband and two pre-teen girls, and we all think that Bo is the most talented performer. I actually hope he doesn't win so he's not tied to the Idol thing -- he needs to go out and get a good band together (wonder if his current/old one is any good?), make a record and go on tour. I'd be there, lighter in hand.

I actually hope he doesn't win so he's not tied to the Idol thing I could be mistaken but I think all of the final 12 had to sign contracts. Any music he comes out with for the next year or two will be owned by Idol. That's why that Mario guy refused to be on the show. Or so I heard.

Constantine's band I think it's called "Praying for the Soul of Betty" has an album from before so it's not owned by Idol. I don't much like his band but it's harder than you might expect.

Edit: It's "Pray" not praying. Here's a snippit (http://www.prayforthesoulofbetty.com/images/Rich_Bitchsite.mp3) Man am I bored.

Denyse

Man...that's just wrong...

They give contracts for that?

Razorback
05-10-2005, 09:28 PM
Actually, Clay got out of his Idol contract. The same lawyer is ready to spring all the "losers" from their contracts.

By the way, watching tonights episode (spoilerish)... the first half performances SUCK! Even Bo sucked. Amazing. Vonzelle is having an emotional breakdown on stage for some reason... not sure why. Clay wannabe is so far the best (though that is not saying much).... what the hell is going on?

I hope the second half is better. ;)

Matthew

I agree! The 3 better were harsh, safe, even dreadful, and the Russian did really well!

How does country girl screw up a country song? Bo was just... out of it. Vonz was pitchy throughout the song. Then she broke down. Weird night. The wannabe might just win.

Matthew
05-10-2005, 09:35 PM
Bo has too many jean creamers, and Carrie has the country girl charm to pull her through. Vonzell just might be the one to go, let us see....

For the most part you're right. It's also how they are able to take the entire final twelve on the road for those big tours all summer after the season ends..

It's probably also worth to note that they have some of the worst contracts a musician would never want. It's pretty much figured since these kids are just happy to be on TV, they'll take anything. These kids don't have agents either, so no one is fighting to give them a fair shake.

Matthew

Even so, he was not bad. I still think the crowd has picked their favorites by now, so they will forgive the mistakes of the other 3.

Anthony will probably go home tomorrow.
