I like the green car last time. Seems to get a new synopsis too. Can't be worse than the reloaded, Nway

I was watching some entertainment show the other day and they said something that totally blew my mind. John Singleton is the director of 2 Fast, 2 Furious.
...Wah?
You mean the man who gave us Menace 2 Society, and Poetic Justice had a hand in this sequel? I still can't quite wrap my brain around it. That's like Quentin Tarantino directing Tomcats! Was anyone else aware of this?
And you're wrong, this movie can be worse then Reloaded. Far worse. Look at those CGI cars in the previews. Ugh.

Well, as soon as it's not worse that Lucas' Attack of the clown...Ooops Clones...

Not going. The first was too brain dead for me, and I don't use that complaint too often. And yeah, the CG is complete crap. CG should be used for monsters or unbuildable sets, not cars. Cars exist, and if the DP can't figure out the way to convey the high speeds of racing, then his credibility is suspect. I thought the great part about cars and action movies was showcasing expensive cars and then pulling off incredible stunts. CG stunts is cheating, and it dissapoints the audience as well as stunt drivers who train to do movies like this.

I actually went the other day, and frankly, I enjyed it. There was CGI, but it was used for the physically impossible stuff, not just to use. I remember reading how Singleton really wanted to use as many live stunts as possible, and he wanted to do this because he's done so much serious stuff, it was time to do a movie that was just for fun.

I have a question about this. I have not seen The Fast and the Furious, or 2 Fast 2 Furious. But, based on the previews, 2 Fast looks like it uses a ton of CGI. However, in this weeks FILM FLAM FLUMMOX article, Michael says "Unlike the much-vaunted first race in the first film, which relied a lot on fancy inside-the-car-and-out-again CGI trickery to get the adrenaline pumping". So, what gives? Are both movies chock full of CGI?

Singleton didn't do MENACE II SOCIETY, he did BOYZ N THE HOOD. And anyone who's seen the crappy SHAFT and ROSEWOOD knows that 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS is pretty much par for the course with the current Singleton.

No way, dude. Shaft rocked the hizzy.
They bith have CGI, but the last one that was the real gimmick. This one uses it, as expected, but not so much, and not as a crutch.

SHAFT suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked. But I did like the scene of Shaft beating a perp on the streets, and a cop passes in a patrol car, and you think he and Shaft are gonna throw down, and then they simply nod to each other, and the cop keeps driving. Great moment in a terrible movie.

Whaa...? Its not a great movie by any stretch, but it was still enjoyable. Watching S.J. do anything is entertaining. He could mow his lawn with an attitude and I'd probably pay to see it.

Ugh. I can't believe I said Menace II Society instead of Boyz in the Hood. I never do stuff like that. I think I'm going be ill (and not in a cool, hip-hop sort of way). Thank you for correcting me.
And Shaft was worth it for Sam Jackson and that Peeples guy.

Just getting back. Let's be honnest, it surely won't win an oscar. But for a crappy rainy saturday afternoon, it does. Maybe should had asked someone else to write the dialogues, but hell, who cares when Paul Walker is smiling?
Cute cars btw...

I watched the first film twice and well. I think I never want to see that film again, so chances are I dont think I'd see this if someone paid me to. Id rather spend the rest of my days in hell being forced to watch Point Break

Ouch, that was mean. Well you have to admit one good thing came out of Fast and Furious, Fastlane. Fastlane is the awesomest [censored] thing on TV. Every week cops who are basically supposed to break the law to catch killers and drug dealers, now that is good television, from the creators of Fast and The Furious, which was good to me.

Holy [censored], FASTLANE sucked beyond belief. And I thought it was the director of CHARLIE'S ANGELS that infected television with the disease that is known as FASTLANE, not the people behind FAST AND THE FURIOUS. Either way, it was worse than FAMILY GUY.

i cannot believe you do not like the family guy??? Ya see the simpsons are obviously the greatest cartoon of all time but i think the next runner up would have to be family guy. Sometimes the writers in the simpsons lose their touch here and there, but out of all 28 episodes of the family guy they just got funnier and funnier. Im surprised to hear a bad comment about that cartoon but i guess it was cancelled so it doesnt appeal to everyone.

There were a few okay episodes, like maybe three or four, and I think there were two good jokes on every other episode of THE FAMILY GUY, and the rest were so [censored] easy, loud and lame. It's like a loud fat guy in a hawaiin shirt...he REALLY wants you to think he's funny, he's saying lots of funny things and he sure looks like he SHOULD be funny...but deep down he's an insecure loser who quotes from his favorite TV shows. THAT is FAMILY GUY.

"Awesomest"?
You do know FASTLANE got cancelled, right? And not because it was too good, like, say, SPORTS NIGHT. Even McG was embarrassed by that show, and some would say the man has no shame.
Luckily for you, there's multiple other shows that suck in a similar vein this coming fall (keep an eye out for FEARLESS especially, with the "this is your brain on drugs" girl).

He has some shame, it just revolves around his personal past, not his professional future...As my successful blackmail attempt proves.

"Has Sam Jackson made a good movie since JACKIE BROWN? I don't remember... "
Then don't you mean BEFORE Jackie Brown? JB was crap.
FORMULA 51 seemed like something Garth Ennis wrote after a long bender of a weekend, cranked out a first draft in no time flat, then never bothered to go back and clean it up.

Sports Night is like a mildly dumbed down, but still just as boring Frasier. I hate both of those shows.
