Since it’s officially the 2nd of March and there’s no missive from our fearless leader, I have taken matters into my own hands. Here are the questions for the month of March from my home office in Northern Virginia.

1. Which do you prefer: Green vegetables, Mr. Green Jeans or Green beer and why?

2. What will you be wary of during the Ides of March?

3. Easter in March: Like or Dislike – what say you?

4. Do you plan on entering a March Madness pool? If so, who do you think will win?

5. Do you think that there should be an international law that every month should include at least one three-day weekend?

6. What would be your pick for this month’s holiday movie – “Celtic Pride”, “The Commitments”, “Leprechaun” or “Behind the Green Door”?

7. Lastly, would you kiss me if I said that I was Irish?

1. Which do you prefer: Green vegetables, Mr. Green Jeans or Green beer and why?

Whats a vegetable? I do not like beer that they have to force you to drink by putting food coloring in it, so alll that is left ie Mr. Green Jeans. I used to watch the captain every week as a boy! Ahh the memories.

2. What will you be wary of during the Ides of March?

hmm, It's a tuesday this year, I will be wary of my boss coming to me saying I have to work saturday.

3. Easter in March: Like or Dislike – what say you?

As long as there is a big ass ham and a kite, I don't care what month it is. (My family has a tradition to fly kites on Easter.)

4. Do you plan on entering a March Madness pool? If so, who do you think will win?

Gophers.

5. Do you think that there should be an international law that every month should include at least one three-day weekend?

hmmmm, before that I think the law should be that every employer must offer paid holidays. Then we can worry about the 3-day thing.

6. What would be your pick for this month’s holiday movie – “Celtic Pride”, “The Commitments”, “Leprechaun” or “Behind the Green Door”?

Leprechaun. That little dude is funny!

7. Lastly, would you kiss me if I said that I was Irish?

If the result was to drink massive ammounts of alcohol, you would not have to be Irish. (no tongue though)

1. Which do you prefer: Green vegetables, Mr. Green Jeans or Green beer and why?

[/ QUOTE ]

Green vegetables. I don't like to see my beer loaded with food coloring or with fruit. Gimme the straight stuff.

Now, when I say "green vegetables," I mean it as actual green vegetables, like okra and broccoli, not the way I would've meant it in college.

Green beer.

Like--my birthday and now anniversary are in April, and I don't like to share.

4. Do you plan on entering a March Madness pool? If so, who do you think will win?

I know I won't win because I haven't paid much attention in years; however, I'll still enter and I'llprobably take Kentucky to win it all, for old times' sake.

Absolutely.

The Commitments is the best movie, but Leprechaun has Jen Aniston's old nose and a Leprechaun riding a tricycle. Behind the Green Door was shot in the Days Before Razors, so I'd be good with never seeing that (again).

1. Which do you prefer: Green vegetables, Mr. Green Jeans or Green beer and why?
Green Beer. Buzz. Next question.

2. What will you be wary of during the Ides of March?
Romans with blades.

3. Easter in March: Like or Dislike – what say you?
Where's the "Don't Care" option?

4. Do you plan on entering a March Madness pool? If so, who do you think will win?
No.

5. Do you think that there should be an international law that every month should include at least one three-day weekend?
No. International laws make me nervous. I don't want to be dragged into the Hague to explain why I was in the office on an International Holiday. I would like to see a Constitutional Amendment though.

6. What would be your pick for this month’s holiday movie – “Celtic Pride”, “The Commitments”, “Leprechaun” or “Behind the Green Door”?
Behind the Green Door. Porn uber alles.

7. Lastly, would you kiss me if I said that I was Irish?
No. I'd punch you in the nose and then buy you a pint of Guinness.

Green vegetables (How could Popeye be wrong)

2. What will you be wary of during the Ides of March?
more snow

3. Easter in March: Like or Dislike – what say you?
Easter is always good. Though since it's in March it gives me more time before summer to lose all the weight I'll gain from eating the cadbury cream eggs.

4. Do you plan on entering a March Madness pool? If so, who do you think will win?
No, you'd have to be mad to enter a pool in March. It's too cold to swim.

5. Do you think that there should be an international law that every month should include at least one three-day weekend?
Hells yea, though I say we skip three and jump right to asking for 4, you know people will want this after only having three for a few years.

6. What would be your pick for this month’s holiday movie – “Celtic Pride”, “The Commitments”, “Leprechaun” or “Behind the Green Door”?
Um, I've only seen one of those mentioned (Leprechaun) and I'm still racking up late charges for losing the damn thing while moving. So I pick none of the above.

1. Which do you prefer: Green vegetables, Mr. Green Jeans or Green beer and why? They're making green beer now? When did that start? Another funny thing, it seems I can't recall the previous March...or the one before that...

2. What will you be wary of during the Ides of March? The girl's birthday. I know it's around there, and if I miss it I'll probably get stabbed.

3. Easter in March: Like or Dislike – what say you?I really have no bearing on the Sunday after the first full moon of the Vernal Equinox. But if the Chrsitains want to add their holiday to a Pagan celebration, then by all means go for it.

4. Do you plan on entering a March Madness pool? If so, who do you think will win?Like Ryall, I haven't paid attention in years. Being from South Carolina, the only two teams I know of are the South Carolina Gamecocks, and Duke. If I had to pick between the two I'd say USC in a big upset.

5. Do you think that there should be an international law that every month should include at least one three-day weekend? Wee-kend? I don't know what type of launguage that word is, but it sounds to me like you're all for big gov'ment. You ask me, gov'ments all ready too big. Go back to Virginia with your Yankee Commie languages.

6. What would be your pick for this month’s holiday movie – “Celtic Pride”, “The Commitments”, “Leprechaun” or “Behind the Green Door”?Tough call. I hate to agree with Ryall again, but the pre-Rhinoplasty Aniston is still fun. She should suffer the reminder of that movie just because I can't turn on the TV or go past any magazine rack without seeing the most heartbreaking story of the year: Are Brad and Jen getting Divorced? And some people may have died in Asia when they fell into a puddle.

7. Lastly, would you kiss me if I said that I was Irish?
Ugh, God no. Not unless there was tongue.

1. Which do you prefer: Green vegetables, Mr. Green Jeans or Green beer and why? I grilled some asparagus the other night and it was really good, but i've got a soft spot for bunny rabbit and Mr. Moose.

2. What will you be wary of during the Ides of March? you, you big burly man you.

3. Easter in March: Like or Dislike – what say you? Like, that means Marshmellow peeps are available sooner

4. Do you plan on entering a March Madness pool? If so, who do you think will win? I'm going to be running it again this year, I haven't looked at it real hard, but i figure that Duke is usually good in the tourney. Alabama is out in the Sweet 16.

5. Do you think that there should be an international law that every month should include at least one three-day weekend? Yep, I sure do.

6. What would be your pick for this month’s holiday movie – “Celtic Pride”, “The Commitments”, “Leprechaun” or “Behind the Green Door”? I'm going with the Commitments, quite a few jams there.

7. Lastly, would you kiss me if I said that I was Irish?
No, but we could spoon for a while.

5. Do you think that there should be an international law that every month should include at least one three-day weekend?

No way. It would corrupt the sanctity of the weekend to allow Friday or Monday in. Our country was founded on the principle of a Saturday-Sunday weekend as God intended. What's next, a Wednesday-Thursday "weekend" in the middle of the week? Pervert.

Found this little bit of info from "The Capitol Scot"

In reply to:

The pronunciation of the ancient Greek word does not determine how the modern English word is pronounced. The word was copied in English from either the Latin "celticus" or the French "celtique" which in its turn came from the Latin. The Latin word is believed to have been copied from the Greek.

Both the Greek and the Latin words were pronounced with the "k" sound, the French with the "s" sound. The regular English pronunciation of "ce-" words derived from French or Latin is with the "s" sound. This word, at least outside Scotland, was predominantly pronounced with the "s" sound as recently as the 1960s but there has been a movement towards the "k" sound except for the Scottish soccer team which is always pronounced with the "s". The Concise Oxford Dictionary has changed its first preference from the "s" sound to the "k" sound in recent editions.

If you want to know what the dominant pronunciation is where you are, the best you can do is listen to what people say. The "correct" pronunciation is the one that is used.

I prefer seltic, you prefer keltic. Both are correct.

I always thought it was pronounced seltic for the basketball team and keltic for everything else Irish.

1. Which do you prefer: Green vegetables, Mr. Green Jeans or Green beer and why?
Beer

2. What will you be wary of during the Ides of March?

I'll be wary of women carry big sticks, and speaking softly.

3. Easter in March: Like or Dislike – what say you?
Yummmm!! Easter!

4. Do you plan on entering a March Madness pool? If so, who do you think will win?
Since Memphis is not going to be in it I could care less.

5. Do you think that there should be an international law that every month should include at least one three-day weekend?
I wish for sleep. Just one whole day to sleep a month.

6. What would be your pick for this month’s holiday movie – “Celtic Pride”, “The Commitments”, “Leprechaun” or “Behind the Green Door”?
Jesus Christ Superstar?

7. Lastly, would you kiss me if I said that I was Irish?
But your name is Britt? Ah whatever come here big boy!

1. Which do you prefer: Green vegetables, Mr. Green Jeans or Green beer and why?
Green vegetables. I just always remember from my bar working days that green beer was the stuff that got too hot in the back and would normally have been thrown out.

2. What will you be wary of during the Ides of March?
Men with committment issues, even when the girl isn't asking for committment.
Corporate mergers.

3. Easter in March: Like or Dislike – what say you?
Well, since I will be spending Easter this year with FanGirl and Karma I guess I would say like. However, I didn't know it was Easter until after I booked my flight!

4. Do you plan on entering a March Madness pool? If so, who do you think will win?
Illinois. Because I am required to say that.

5. Do you think that there should be an international law that every month should include at least one three-day weekend?
Yes. Americans are already overworked, which therefore leaves us too stressed to really be 100% effective in the time we have in the office. Therefore giving us the three day weekend would make us MORE productive and not less. Yes? Good arguement? High-five...

6. What would be your pick for this month’s holiday movie – “Celtic Pride”, “The Commitments”, “Leprechaun” or “Behind the Green Door”?
Behind the Green Door. In honor of the fact that every Irish guy I have ever dated liked porn more than most. Sigh, I love the Irish.

7. Lastly, would you kiss me if I said that I was Irish?
You bet your ass. Now come over here and pucker up! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

1. Which do you prefer: Green vegetables, Mr. Green Jeans or Green beer and why?

Green Beer always tasted too skunky for me and I've never really enjoyed Green Vegetables so I'm down with Senor Pantalones de Verde.

2. What will you be wary of during the Ides of March?

Servers crashing and writer's block.

3. Easter in March: Like or Dislike – what say you?

To me, it just seems weird that Easter in March is a possibility. If you don't count Passover, an April without an Easter becomes a month without a holiday (just like August - unless you count my birthday. But that's a different thread.)

4. Do you plan on entering a March Madness pool? If so, who do you think will win?

But, of course. In keeping with the Green theme, I'm picking the Spartans of Michigan State. Go GREEN!

5. Do you think that there should be an international law that every month should include at least one three-day weekend?

Can I get a Hell Ya?!?! Not that I'm in favor of big government as some have stated. (Take that, Robbo).

6. What would be your pick for this month’s holiday movie – “Celtic Pride”, “The Commitments”, “Leprechaun” or “Behind the Green Door”?

Although I'm a big fan of the Classic Porn (Seka, my darling), I'd still have to go with the seminal "The Commitments". Good tunes and good dialogue. Can't miss.

7. Lastly, would you kiss me if I said that I was Irish?

Sure. After all, I do believe in self-love. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

1. Which do you prefer: Green vegetables, Mr. Green Jeans or Green beer and why?

Green vegetables. They are healthier.

2. What will you be wary of during the Ides of March?

Having enough time to work on a term paper... after all, I will have to watch the Revenge trailer 5,000 times!

3. Easter in March: Like or Dislike – what say you?

I dig it. Chocolate day!

4. Do you plan on entering a March Madness pool? If so, who do you think will win?

Nope.

5. Do you think that there should be an international law that every month should include at least one three-day weekend?

Only if we get paid for it.

6. What would be your pick for this month's holiday movie -- Celtic Pride, The Commitments, Leprechaun or Behind the Green Door?

The Phantom Menace.

7. Lastly, would you kiss me if I said that I was Irish?

Not on the lips.

Were you trying to get him to commit to not committing ? See. That, in itself is a commitment. Perhaps we should take this up with the committee?

I might be the last person you should ever take relationship advice from, but sometimes it's hard to keep someone at arms length without pushng them away, and since I'm already giving relationship advice, I think we should have a relationship. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Know this thread has moved on somewhat - but am going to take it on back. What better pastime for a newbie like me to talk about themselves. So here goes:

1. Which do you prefer: Green vegetables, Mr. Green Jeans or Green beer and why?
I need to move to the States. In the UK green beer is but a far off dream. Green vegetables, then, but just because as it's the only choice

2. What will you be wary of during the Ides of March?
Superstition is for the uneducated. So I'll be wary. Very wary. Mainly of being caught surfing the net when I'm supposed to be working

3. Easter in March: Like or Dislike – what say you?
As long as there's chocolate I'm happy

4. Do you plan on entering a March Madness pool? If so, who do you think will win?
Again, I need to move to the US. We're so dull in Britain

5. Do you think that there should be an international law that every month should include at least one three-day weekend?
Too right, but why stop at one

6. What would be your pick for this month’s holiday movie – “Celtic Pride”, “The Commitments”, “Leprechaun” or “Behind the Green Door”?
Commitments every time

7. Lastly, would you kiss me if I said that I was Irish?
You wouldn't need to be Irish. Count me in.

It's always supposed to be with the K sound, based on the Celts of Ireland, and considering it's a Boston team, we can figure they intended it to be the [K]eltics. Unfortunately, too many people mispronounced it over the years, and it has been taken for granted. It's the same as "ain't" getting accepted in the dictionary. Massive ignorance gets accepted by the masses. I refuse to use the word with the S sound, and when I refer to the team I am happy to explain "why I'm saying it funny."

1. I would have to say vegatables...because I don't know who Mr. Green Jeans is and the only beer for me is Corona or Budweiser.
2. The fact the Easter is in March this year
3Dislike...bad memories.
4. No!
5.Yes! We need time for beer!
6.Leprechaun...it's funny as hell
7. Depends...male or female?

I hate to disagree again, but I know a few Irish families that have come to Minnesota (1 of which built 2 pubs in Minneapolis / St Paul) pronounce with the S sound. They say even in Ireland certain regions pronounce it differently.
