Million Dollar Baby? Am I the only one who has not even seen this movie. Ok, I guess I have to now.
The Passion of The Christ did not win one!!
Anything bother you guys?
Nope, because i watched 3 different Law & Orders instead of the oscars last night.
I had to work last night- sort of... Nothing to do on a Sunday but World Domination. I've found a new addiction- somebody downloaded "Conquest" (Risk) on the computer in the MOC. My buddy Blue was the CIC and I was the military advisor. Together we dominated the world twice over. Then I watched (had to watch) "Bad Boys" and a really neat flick I somehow missed when it first came out, called "Bait". My night was pretty satisfying in spite of not watching more than three seconds of the Oscars.
So the oscars must not have been very good, as nobody is talking about them. Like i said i didn't watch, How was Chris Rock as host? From what i've heard/seen he wasn't that great. What did you guys think?

The double award for Smallest Eyes and Most inappropriate dress to walk in goes to... Renee Zellweger...
I really only watch for the dresses.... and Johnny Depp /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
What a shock Jamie Fox won hey? Didn't see that coming! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

I tivo'd it and managed to watch the whole show in about 30 minutes. Considering that it was the best Oscar's every for me. I thought Rock was funny and the awards were fine.

Rock's opening monologue was good, his in between presenters bit was pretty lame. His best one of those was, "When he's not dazzling us with his acting, he's boring us to death with his politics...Tim Robbins."
That's one of the bits that i saw (i had flipped over during a commercial). It was cool that Tim Robbins was laughing as he came on stage. Say what you will about his politics, he has a sense of humor about himself.

The show was a joke. So all the "unimportant" awards were given to the little poeple while they sat in their seats? Or stood on stage with everyone else? Oh no, that didn't scream "you mean less than the beautiful people!"
Rock was there... nothing special. If this is the same format next year then I see no point in watching. I will just find out who won.

But is he smiling as he gives the finger? That's the important bit.
I loved Albert Brooks showing up to endorse "White Chicks." That and Jeremy Irons (and the gunshot) were the funniest surprises for me.

Yeah, he seems to have a good sense of humor about himself.

Plus, he is a damn good actor. Not only that, but in spite of what the righties say about him, he is actually a pretty fair minded politico.

"...and remember kids, don't do crack. It's a ghetto drug."
If you haven't seen Bob Roberts, you should go pick it up. It shows a long almost skinny Jack Black in it amoungst others.

I don't see why that makes any difference. I don't think it's fair to hold anyones politics against them, unless they are ... well ... YOU! .
