k this has been buggin me and if it's already been posted about, sorry. But is anyone else annoyed by the fact that they keep making more "The Crow" movies? I mean i think Brandon Lee was the best actor for that role and the ones after the original keep getting worse. I mean the storyline for "The Crow:Stairway to Heaven" is a pretty good one, but I still feel they should have let the movie and it's legend die with Brandon Lee.

The original is one of my favorite movies of all time. Lee truly was perfect for the role. I also agree that each movie after it has sucked more than suck can suck... however, if you don't like them then just move on and stop watching. The fact that they make more won't change your life.

Why people work themselves up over things they can just avoid is one of those things that still puzzles me. Watch something else. Worry about something else.

Not particularly. I really didn't like "The Crow". It seemed like a lame rip-off of "Heckle and Jeckle".

k, it's been bugging me when people begin sentences with a single lowercase letter. It also really bugs me when people use numbers where letters are supposed to be. e.g. B4, 4ever, sk8er, etc. . Hopefully, someday, you'll read Orwells' "1984" and come to understand the true evil of "Newspeak". With the shrinking of vocabulary comes the degeneration of consciousness and if this trend continues, a hundred years from now we'll back to grunting at eachother like pea-brained neanderthals. Just so you understand, it doesn't make you look sharp or witty, k?

That said, I really liked the first Crow movie and the comic that preceeded it. It was dark and moody and...well ... here.

The art has an undeniable emotional impact. The writing has poetry and romance, evoking the styles of George Bataille and Antonen Artuad , and also it's fair share of satisfying vengance action. It was the last comic I cared about.

I was excited when I heard that they would be making a movie of it and I remember clearly hearing the news of Lees' death during shooting, ( seriously, no pun intended ) and thinking the movie probably died with him. But it didn't. In fact, the film had deeper impact due to his martyrdom, and it stands as a fitting tribute to his under recognized potential.

As far as answering why the sequels were ever greenlighted ? Well , Hollywood is lazy and never shys away from the opportunity to make a buck. The sequels weren't adapted well from O'Barrs' source material, and Proyas didn't direct.

I must get around to watching the crow again now I'm old enough to fully appreciate it. I did the same with darkman but I like that film less now, not that it's bad it's just not as good as I remember.
