until I retire from the Air Force....WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!

I actually have until 31 May 05, but I have like 71 days of leave saved up that I wasn't able to take. I also have another 20 days authorized for job/house hunting. One day per year in. So, this makes my last day of work 2 Mar 05.

I know I have been known to complain about the over use of the smiley face, but screw it.

Congratulations. Does this mean you will have to look for a civilian job?

Congratulations! I still have fond memories of my last day. Good luck and all that stuff. I don't think anyone will fault your use of the smiley.

Dude. You know in some countries, they can't afford even one smiley face.

Congrats again on the retirement!

Congratulations, but please be careful. If movies and TV have taught us anything, it's that tragedy can befall a public servant who is about to retire. And that hot chicks like fat troll-like comedians.

Maybe I will try to become a fat troll-like comedian then.

Actually, I do have a civilian job already lined up.

Be careful. If as a fat troll-like comedian, you're put into a life threatening situation, you're now "plucky sidekick." Odds of survival drop.

True, but I will do my best to not go to the kitchen to get the beer....

or run upstairs when I hear something scary....

or go down into the basement....

or walk off into the woods looking for the lost dog....

There is just way too many things to remember not to do, in order to stay alive. Someone's at the door...I'll be right back.

Going to the door and leaving before you were dismissed? I've had it up to HERE with your insubordination! Your playing fast and loose with the rules! You're off the case! Gimmie your gun and badge, and don't get any smart ideas about investigating this on your own time!

Hee hee. I thought he was giving me a stock tip. I was just about to sell my "what" while it up and buy some "when" while it down. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

"A general upward movement of fish" may have to be the title of my auto-biography. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Well, I had my retirement ceremony today, and it was good. Got a little bit of the sweaty palm nervousness, but that went away quickly.

[Large sigh of relief]

My daughter and I are staying our first night in the new house. We don't have much here, as the movers don't start packing our stuff up until the 3rd.

[Large sigh of relief.]

Very awesome. Congrats. Does it feel like a big change with things not quite sinking in yet, or does it just feel like another chapter in a series of chapters?

I would have to go with the...another chapter in a series of chapters....one.

I think I just entered the "Now I gotta move again" chapter though. I have been going non-stop since 5:45 this morning just getting ready for the movers tomorrow. Talk about dead on my feet...sheesh.
