This makes me happy... and I owe its start to Karma here, for hooking me up with that bootleg.

Congrats! You know you've got my money. We get to cut in line for your autograph, right?

Who's this newbie? We don't cotton to Spam around these parts!
I look forward to writing a nasty letter to the Editor about how the writer took one of my favorite movies and totally missed it's point, thus ruining it forever.

Congratulations.
Looks like it'll be pretty cool.

Fun!!! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
Good luck with it, man. I am not much on comics(as in I don't read them often not that I don't like them) but I WILL pay for that. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I still haven't even seen Shaun of the Dead.
Kick ass, anyway. Maybe I can use it as my bridge back into comics.

Wow, you're a bonafide writer!! Not that the weekly articles aren't great, but this seems like something that deserves to be magneted on the refrigerator.

Thanks, everyone! It's pretty exciting (and intimidating). Soon as I can, I'm gonna do a longer piece on it in a column, with artwork I haven't shown anyone else (color!) and more.
We'll also talk more about it soon, too, but if you check the Superheroes and Philosophy piece at Newsarama, too, you might recognize a couple familiar names in its list of contributors, too.
Oh, and Dave, since we now have letters pages in the books, I ecnourage nasty mail!

If I buy my copies direct they better be signed.
That would be a page of fried gold, or many pages.

This is so awesome. I can't wait. Huge congratulations. I'm seriously glad for the microscopic role I had in it. I just thought it was genius movie that needed to be shared with people who might not get to see it.
And, uh.....also...if you ever tell the story to Edgar and Simon, make sure to tell them that I saw the movie in the theater and bought the DVD too. I swear. Thanks!
Real quick question though:
In reply to:

So far, it’s been like writing for MoviePoopShoot.com [where Ryall also serves as editor]—like writing in a vacuum where I can pretend that no one’s really reading.
[/ QUOTE ]...? Ouch! /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif You're hurtin' me.

We all paid to see it. How else could we have pulled our friends to into the coolness crowd? When I told some people we should see it, and they were hesitant, I told them I had already seen it and was willing to pay to see it again. Since I see most movies for free this did the trick. I shall do the same for the comic.

Nothing kicks ass more than watching a movie for free. Well, some things might kick more ass, but its still pretty damn cool.
My manslave works at a video store, so I haven't paid to rent a movie since august. Plus, I never go to see movie's in theaters unless its something I've been waiting to see for a long time. Except when said manslave really wants to see something then he pays for me to see it.

I just walk up, wave, and drift on in. If only I could get free popcorn, too.

I have only boldly into a theater once. Past the empty ticket window, past the empty ticket tearer guy spot, past the empty concession stand, and into a theater with no one the wiser. Unfortunatly, it was one of the worst movies I have ever seen, and I want that chunk of my life back. At least I gave it no support and I was the only one in the theater. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
Edit: I wasn't paying attention to which forum this was, so I forgot to say, Go Ryall! That is so damned cool!

These days when it comes to comics I mostly just wait for TPBs. But I believe I can make an exception for a hot and upcoming writer like yourself. Can't wait.
