I just read an article about the possibility of remaking the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, one of the best independant horror films, and the standard of all horror movies I see since I saw it. It sounds like a really good idea when you hear that hot chick from 7th heaven is in it, too. I will probably watch it. But there is one issue, the person directing is on a board of people against violence. I hope they don't think that Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a good movie without violence. And if they are trying to make it scary without violence like Blair Witch let me tell you, anyone who was scared of that should wear diapers when watching the original. Let me say, quit [censored] up the classics!

He's with the times. This thread was ancient, but GoreFollower is digging through the archives to bring up dead discussions.

They are gunna [censored] up the chainsaw rules, just like TCM 3. I saw the trailer there is a woman in this new version as one of the killers. The original TCM and TCM2 both made the rule that they must all be male and it was suggested that they all had sexual issues.

I still dont ge the deal with the dead grandad corpse in that film, is it meant o be leatherface & co. is imagining he's still alive. Also was steel sonny bono wig guy in 2 meant to be the equivalent of likes to cut himself from the first?

Acxtually the grampa wasn't dead in one and two he was just barely alive and that's why he was so slow and such. The proof of life was the fact that he sucked the blood of the girl in the first, and in the second he moved his head around.

oh, I just thought they might imagine he's still alive, in a norman bates & mother kind of way and we get the imaginative side of it but nevermind. Anyway was the metallic plate guy in two the replacement for that guy who gets pulled under the truck wheels in the first?

Yes he was, you could tell because they both had a voice that i can't pinpoint, but redneck puberty may describe it. Chop-Top and the Hitchhiker are the same character, it was just different names in the credits.
