Richard Chamberlain came out of the closet publicly today. What a shock. I'm just waiting for Ed Norton to follow suit.

Noooo!!! Actually, after Ian McKellan, nothing really shocks me. Its nice that gays don't have to live in fear any more, even though this would give our founding fathers a heart attack.
As for Norton... who knows. If I worked with Brad Pitt I might change sides too...

What closet was Richard Chamberlain ever in...?
And I think Salma Hayek might have something to say about Ed Norton.

Ian McKellan recently talked about his "coming out" on his website (where he answers fan questions... the dude is just the coolest) and said how it didn't have a negative impact on his career but that it may for some. I don't think that "coming out" (which, by the way, should be a term never used again in reference to someone admitting to being homosexual as it only helps perpetuate a need for gays to hide their sexuality) is as safe as it should be; sadly, a large portion of the world still feels that "gay" is a pejorative connotation.

Didn't even know Ian McKellan was gay until just two seconds ago. Still doesn't change a thing. I never chose respect him for his sexual prefrences to begin with. I choose respect the man for his superior ability to deliver diolague and act. Being gay doesn't change anything, and choosing to telling others that you are shouldn't change anything as well.

Indeed, Ian McKellan is the perfect tool for acceptance. Even the most homophobic of my friends still say that he's awesome long after they find out he's gay. I remember he recently commented on X2 saying how it was a shame Rebecca R. Stamos naked all the time was wasted on a man like him. All I could think was 'damn'. How many people will get to say something like that in their life?
