So I was visting the 3drealms forums, and frankly it made me love this place more.

Anyone else found a place better, or ten times worse than this.

This is the only place I go. I tried a couple of other places, but it was like going to a foreign country- the layouts were different, the people didn't tolerate anyone new at all- weird vibes. This place is home.

Nope. There will never be another poop shoot. I'll post here until, well I die or it closes down. Then I'll stop posting.

I love it here. A /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I'm an administrator on an old, whiney Smashing Pumpkins board. In comparison to this board, it's only nice because there isn't a constant flow of new people acting like asses. I think that's also it's downfall though. If it's the same people talking forever, you run out of things to say.

I like this board. I don't like the software AT ALL, but the people here are better than most boards.

Ah, Smashing Pumpkins, the only band I have ever seen boo'ed off stage. All of Dodger Stadium calling for them to die or stop playing, whatever caused the most pain. Who the hell hired them to open for Kiss anyway?

the real question is, who the hell goes to see Kiss?

I come here for the general chit chat and then I go to other boards for the specifics. Blambot and Digital Webbing for comic industry talk, Penny Arcade for Video games and Fanboyradio for comic book news. If they were all drowning, this would be the only board I'd save.

I mod on Tidefans. I goof off on Lazyf#$$.net and on a Keira Knightley fansite. I went for a filmography and was drawn in by the cracking English nonsense. I also go to Dazed & Confused fansites and a Natural Golf forum.
I am a dirty, filthy board-whore!

I was a long time user of the DB boards. If you don't have a clue what that is you're better off not knowing.

I lurk at DailyKos (Dem/lib site), Television Without Pity, and Ain't It Cool, but this is the only place I post.

I occaisonally browse the gamefaqs forums to find game info, but I don't post there. I couldn't find enough time to post at more than one site. This place is the best, and I think it is because we all take on the job of moderator when needed. We have something special here, that we don't want to see ruined.

I used to spend just as much time at both toolshed.down.net's boards (a Tool board) and www.deftones.com (http://www.deftones.com)'s boards as I do here. After a while, Deftones' board got to be too "young". People spent way to much time talking about what their first day of high school was going to be like, or posting another picture of themselves...too young for my liking. The Tool board ended up feeling too elite. It was the type of place that you had to have alot of worthless posts, and have been there from the beginning, or you weren't "cool". I still check back there once every coupla months. This is my home, though.

To take the place of the ones that I let go, I spend alot of time reading blogs. Mostly left wing hippie stuff, with www.andrewsullivan.com (http://www.andrewsullivan.com) and www.danieldrezner.com/blog (http://www.danieldrezner.com/blog) thrown in for a little bit of balance.

I've been on I think.....four other boards. Like JJ, I used to post things there and there on t.d.n. and I was on the Meshuggah boards for a while. I post on Fark from time to time and I showed my flash comic and made some posts on Blambot. That's pretty much it. These are the only boards I've felt like I need to keep returning to and see what's going on. It's completely different here.

Sadly, I don't even remember. I had all kinds of names I used for stuff -- dolemiteDT, KarlHungus, Method, and as much as I don't want to admit it, DrewTOOL. I only posted a couple times that I remember. Someone wanted interpretations of songs from Aenima. I threw out a couple, he disagreed, I was like "Well that's what is cool about the music; it's open for interpretation," and he was like "No really, I'm pretty sure that's what this means." I laughed and didn't go back.

It's sad that Kabir doesn't do anything with that site anymore. He says it's because there isn't anything going on with the band, but it's obviously something else. I'm suprised he even did an April Fools joke this year.

I’ve slummed other boards in the past and I still lurk around a few others (Viewaskew, ANP, NAMBLA, Etc.) but this is my favorite. The posters here are talented, sexy, intelligent and funny. But even without Janice and ViolentJ, some of you other people would probably be reason enough to stick around.

I don’t want to start a list of my favorite posters, but you know who you are. To anyone that’s laughed at my awkward stabs at humor or had anything good to say about me at all, I just want to let you know that I would sooooo hump each and every one of you! Likewise, to any detractors, I would say that you can’t watch.

This board is interesting. I guess Kevin Smith is the lowest common denominator, but beyond that it’s a pretty diverse group. Kevin’s appeal reaches the well read and the illiterate. Actually, though, I kind of blame Jason Mewes for the tool factor. I like Jay, I really do, but his antics seems to lose something when they’re typed, badly, by some teen-aged ICP yahoo that sees this board as an opportunity to fill the down time between bong hits. But the feedback they get is usually entertainment enough to justify the brief existence of whatever account they created that day.

It’s the amusing back-and-forth, the heated political discussions, and the though of Affleckie wearing nothing but a small, strategically placed red bow that keeps me coming back. These Poop Shoot boards are far and away my favorite on the any of the internets. Oh, Poop Shoot, it is of thee I sing!

Ths is my home away from work, which is thankfully also like a community, it makes the days go much quicker.
I occasionally post on lynch's board, imdb, and occasionally the VA though it's too snobbish compared to what I've been accustomed to. Other than that pretty much just amazon and gamefaqs, I haven't been having alot of net time lately. Movies are a central part of my social life again.

Could not have said it better myself. But then again, what would this site be if it was completely devoid of newbs like that. They unite us and make us forget our differences so we can bag on them.

I visit the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club of NA site, but have only posted there a few times. They are a weird group, and have a lot of experience and advice for many things, but mainly they just give me ideas on how to spend my money. /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif

Or until she gets a fat-ass.

I will periodically go to the board at theviewaskewniverse, but it isn't nearly as good as this one. People there don't seem to warm up to you very much. Oh, and a lot of them are Canadians.

I still haven't put the "Blame Canada" bumper sticker on my car yet. Hell, I think I actually lost it.

I have been told by numerous people at work that I need some new stickers, so I might pick some up this weekend when I go down to Las Cruces.

I'm headed there myself on Sunday. Need to do some Christmas recon. Also, I haven't had Hooters in a while, and also have a Chili's gift certificate I can use.

So, in the event I don't ever visit that site, what do the Canadians on that board have to say?

ratm1966
12-11-2004, 01:11 PM
Right now, they are just going back and forth posting pictures of themselves and playing up the attention whore thingy.

It also depends on which forum you go into. "Chatters" is the general one like "Off-Topic" is here. They have one that is Jason Mewes' forum, and that one can get pretty nasty. But then, look at who it belongs to.

Kevin Smith actually posted in the "Chatters" forum yesterday or the day before.

I'm sure the people there creamed themselves over that, believing that God himself had graced the place with his presence.

It is apparently a regular occurance. Smith and Mewes both post there a bit. There are several others who post there, but not really ever here, like Ming. Over there, the really important people show up in red when they post.

I used to post on a local board a friend ran, and I was in the Friday the 13th forum for a little while, but when this site went up, I was hooked. I was one of the earliest people to register, though I lurked more than posted at first. The only time I've cheated on this board was over at Suicide Girls. Fun group, but a very large community. Interesting discussions, but it seemed pretty tough to get get to know anybody without being there 24/7. Here there's usually enough to make it worth checking every day, but not something I have to refresh every five minutes.

What's the deal with Suicide Girls? Is it a porn site? a punk site? a Punk/Porn Site. I only have the 'net at work, so i'm not going to surf over and find out myself.

I posted on GameFaqs (http://www.Gamefaqs.com) for quite some time and still do occasionally as 'x Sheriff x'. I liked the boards, but not the most social place.

I also will admit to going to these boards: CSfoosball (http://www.csfoosball.com/) and EZboard (http://pub86.ezboard.com/bfoosball6358) they usually are a good place for info and a little drama between people I have come to know. Reading the posts can be torture, people have no etiquette, are stuck up about foosball, and have huge egos to boot.

This is definitely the first site where people seem to have more than 1D personalities and the opinions are usually well informed coming from people with an open mind. Ever since being introduced to this board it has become the best net pastime for me.

SG is a little bit of everything. It's punk/goth/geek in attitude, but with nekkid galleries. The photos are intended to be playful and artistic, rather than explicit or crude. There are articles, discussions, live events (including an old-fashioned music & comedy burlesque tour) that are cool. If it was more work-safe, and not so over-populated, I might be there more. I'd never ditch here, of course, but the attitude there is pretty dang cool as well.

That makes sense, I had seen the ads for it on Pitchfork Media, but I had alway assumed it was a "porn" site, so it thru me for a little bit of a loop when you mentioned that there were boards on there.

Myself i really don't post much on any other boards, except occasionally on the Geoff Johns Message Board (http://www.geoffjohns.com/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi) for comic related stuff and the Frankblack.net (http://forum.frankblack.net/) boards for All my Pixies goodness. (appearing on Letterman tonight!!!!) Other than that i lurk in the Sonic Youth (http://www.sonicyouth.com/gossip/index.html) and Foo Fighters Board but don't really post there at all unless a tour is gearing up.

Other than that, the only other one is Creative Cow (http://www.creativecow.net/) and it's work related.

OK so I met this guy on yahoo. He seems nice. He is starting this forum for political debate. I thought since It has three members right now me, him and some other guy. Maybe my poo friends want to get in on it. He seems like a really stand up guy. This is his first forum. The good news is that the site is very small. So there is no spam and no 5 year olds , yet. I thought I would tell you guys about it.
