It is hard to be fascinated by someone that is so obviously fasicinated by the intricacies of normal daily living.

I thought that this sort of summed up the whole thing.
"Also in the interview, Hilton reveals that she doesn't just sit around saying "That's hot" all day: she even reads books."
That is truly fascinating.
I could think of at least 1,000 people more facinating than her, but I guess Walter's is just giving her opinion. Or perhaps she was paid to say that, much like a company pays for celebrity endorsement, but in reverse where the celebrity pays to be recognized. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Did you guys see last weeks South Park? Just Great. She deserves it just for giving Parker the material.

So many thoughts...so few words. Damn feeble writing skills.
Edit: Brain working a little now.
"It was (very painful). I thought it was the end. I thought, I was so embarrassed for all my teenage fans and my younger fans. I thought it was over."
She has fans?

Well, yeah, but nobody videotapes it when they fuck a tree. And to my knowledge there are no Skank trees.

My original response to this thread was two-and-a-half paragraphs but I thought it was overly critical and a bit too bitter sounding. The only thing fascinating about Paris Hilton is, why America gives a fuck about her ?
Maybe we can figure out a way to pawn her off on France ?

I personally care because I love watching the tide slowly turn away from non-talent as celebrities. There are a lot of slutty spoiled rich girls out there. When one of them becomes a household name, it's just sad. Still, I think there's something cathartic about watching her get regularly embarrassed and exposed for being so worthless. She's the archetype of the girl who treated everyone like shit in high school, and we as a planet get to watch her crash and burn.

While I do take some comfort from the fact she'll soon be a washed up whore that no one remembers. The other side of the coin is that she's getting even more rich and spoiled , simply because she was born rich and spoiled... Why ? Why do we glamorize and celebritize this?

I'm trying to see your point here , but I'm missing it. If she were capable of feeling embarassed or realizing just how worthless she is , I might.
Frankly, I'd rather spend a couple hours discussing philosophy with Charles Manson, than watch a ten second promo for a show she's in.

Speaking about philosophy with Manson would be legitimately fascinating. The man is evil, but eerily intelligent. Definitely he has a unique perspective.

Wait? She is the most fascinating person because she was in a poor-quality porn movie? And we're supposed to be a moral country now?
ZyronDrazil
12-07-2004, 09:11 PM
That doesn't explain shit of why she is "fascinating." Anybody can make a horribly shot pornography video, even though I've never seen. How the fuck does that make her fascinating? Thats bullshit. What about Usher, Ludacris, or Stephen Hawking, Marshall Mathers, Puff Daddy, Marilyn Manson, or better yet: Kevin Smith, or Jason Mews? Those are people I can expect to be given that title (BECAUSE THEY'VE ACTUALLY DONE SOMETHING!!!). But Paris Hilton? She's just a glorified whore. I'm So glad that Trey Parker and Matt Stone showed everyone that.

I have a treehugger friend who grows grass and he's very fascinated by it. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

David Cross' views on her fame?
"...The Simple Life, which is a show that glorifies these two rich, giggling cun*s who have no respect for anybody -- just vile people, awful human beings who get away with everything because they're rich...and then the blonde one'll blow you, apparently."
I do have to say it's fascinating in a train wreck kind of way. Actually, it's a very Freudian/Jungian kind of interest I have. Where else or how else are you going to see what happens to an Id or Ego when it's pressed this far to an extreme? It's interesting to see a living example of an ego this inflated, hollow, valueless and self-consuming, then realize it's a product of having a lifetime of full access to every desire -- wealth, sex, popularity/fame. Our characters are defined by the conflict we have by not having those things, and how we learn from it, compensate for it, or struggle to achieve it. "I'm fat, so I need to be funnier." "I don't have enough money. Maybe I need to learn to be happy with what I have." But the absolute best part about it are the phenominal odds you have, once you meet this hyper-developed, vaccuous ego, of getting it to take a load in the mouth in the bathroom stall of a nightclub like it was sucking out a reason to live.
I hope Trey and Matt keep reviving her character in Mr. Slave's ass.
I haven't seen the South Park episode, but I see your point. And I like the way you chose to present it. You aren't by any chance on a path to spiritual enlightenment and/or take an interest in philosophy or sociology of some sort? /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

How the fuck do you figure that? He [censored] up his relationship? He's still a talented mother [censored] person. You don't understand my [censored] point. Paris Hilton is a [censored] whore. she hasn't done anything to be fascinating except exploit a poorly recorded video of her [censored] some guy. How the fuck does that make her [censored] fascinating?
Usher at least put out some great [censored] talent. He's got skills.
She's got nothing. She's not even that hot. I've seen plenty of women, including my girlfriend, that are much [censored] hotter than her.
She's got nothing to be fascinating for. She just played the system. She doesn't do anything.
Usher at least did something! How is he a creep? He regrets what he did, he's 23 years old, people make mistakes. It's not like he molested anybody, or raped anybody ::coughs:: Kobe::coughs: no body hates that guy.

I don't really have an opinion about this Usher chap either way, but I will tell you I laughed really hard the first time I heard him singing that he was man enough to tell the woman he loved that he had knocked up some other broad. What a stand up guy. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
