Return of the King: Extended Edition

I got my hands on this today... and man, I can never watch the crappy version again. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif This movie is so much more fleshed out. Other than the ridiculous way they deal with the events of the Scouring of the Shire (which is not in the movie, so they have to kill off some characters another way, that doesn't really make sense without context), this movie is the best of the extended editions.

There are so many little things that will make any hardcore fan gush. Small bits of extras within sequences that breath more life into the characters. I am really happy with this movie! I rated the theatrical release highly based on what I knew would be in this cut (the only cut worth owning) and I was not disappointed.

So, rush out in a couple of weeks to get this baby! Oh, the extras rock too!

I got it last night and watched it. All the added stuff is great. There were a couple gags with Gimli that could have been shortened though. I already got to pull a "I feel a tingling in my fingers. I think it's working." You'll get it later. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

The only scene that really didn't work at all for me in the extended cut is Gimli walking on the skulls. Oh God, make it end!

At least the smoke thing was funny... although it could have ended after the first time. However, the skulls thing just doesn't work.
