It's okay. It's okay. *breathes through paper bag* See now that means a special screening at Comicon in July and my birthday is in September so obviously this is a birthday gift thing. Right? Right? Right? *breathes through paper bag* It's okay. I can watch my DVDs until then. It's okay. *breathes through paper bag*

I can't say why, but in supersecret land there may be some good things that come from the delay.
Ha! Ha!

Danger's new avatar is officially freaking me out.
What, the "<font color="red">Red X of Doom</font color>"?
Jason_Brown
11-23-2004, 01:36 PM
It's not a normal "red x". It moves. It does strange things. Swear to God.
That's just your inner demons. the red x does nothing.

Patience, this requires. (Besides, I'm on a Mac. I get blue question marks, instead of red x's. Hence, my surprise at seeing a red x, especially a moving one.)
Ah! Bugs! Bugs, everywhere!
Hey, I noticed that too. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif It took me by surprise because the first time I saw it move. I wasn't really looking at it (I was reading a post) and the little red x in the corner of my vision started to move. I sat there and looked at it again waiting for it to move to justify I wasn't going crazy and the damn thing wouldn't move.

It helps to drink, every time you see the mischievous red x "move".

I like to start drinking at about 9 am. Then by 12:30 I am no longer worried about why the red X is moving. I instead begin to contemplate how misunderstood Liza Minelli is, and how much I really do enjoy the song "Toxic".

I'm ashamed to admit that I really dig "Toxic". (And, Liza was great on Arrested Development.)
I don't drink much anymore, but the x is crazy fun. I saw it light a j. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

She was great on Arrested Development. She wasn't afaid to play a character as eccentric and her reputation says she is.
The whole Lillian Two thing still cracks me up.
Yarrrrhhhhh! you're right J.B. it does move. I don't know why i ever doubted you. Please accept my appologies.
As far as Arrested Development goes, this is by far the best comedy on TV.

The copier bit was my favorite part of this week's episode. Either that, or Ann being left in Mexico. Or Buster thinking that he was in Mexico...Too much good.
Oh yeah, i definately dig Buster's "new life" in Mexico, and the fact that he keeps busting in on his Mom and "Uncle Oscar" .

I'm finding it really funny that Oscar keeps outing himself as Buster's dad and yet nobody notices aside from Lucille.

Come here, girl... so I can hugeth thee!
They were just afraid of my Star Wars movie. You know, don't want to have two space adventures back to back. I am glad to see it moved if only to have something to hold me over until KING KONG!!!!

I believe there is a strong temptation within the Firefly community to lash out at the Star Wars community. I say nay! There will be no decree against Star Wars. Geeks of the world unite! I will be seeing both, probably on more then one occasion.

Lash out for what? It is not like Lucas put Star Wars there to kill any movie. All the Star Wars movies have been released around that time.

As you well know, the majority of any fan community can be hardly rational sometimes.

Firefly brought to book
Novel adventures for Joss Whedon’s space western.
Three new books based upon the adventures of Mal Reynolds and his motley crew have been announced by publishers Simon and Schuster.
The range will launch next autumn with an adaptation of Joss Whedon’s screenplay for big screen adventure Serenity.
Although the publishers considered asking Joss to write the novel himself, the job eventually fell to Keith R.A. DeCandido, who has previously written several Buffy and Angel tie-ins.
The Serenity adaptation will be followed by two original Firefly novels in 2006.

I dig reviews for movies where the writer has to bash Star Wars. I am so ready for this movie to bomb... as have all the other scifi movies that have been touted as being better than Star Wars.

Yikes! Your post suddenly got a lot angrier than it was, earlier.
But, yeah, I thought the prequel-bashing was unnecessary. I certainly don't wish ill towards Serenity because of it, though.

Anytime I see fans of a failed series slam a successful one it helps move me in the opposite direction. This isn't the first time I have seen a fan of this story slam Star Wars or Lucas.
It has best be better than the LOTR movies, the way some in the banbase are talking shit... I was all for being supportive and looking forward to seeing it but lately it has become more difficult.

Did you not read any of my above posts? Jackasses come in all fan communities. Especially ones who post to Ain't-it-cool. I mean, I'm glad to hear the rave reviews and all, but that is a site that doesn't have much credibility in my eyes. Why let their irrationality make you act in an irrational manner as well?
Razorback

My manner is quite rational, actually. If I support a movie whose fanbase is full of people who bash my favorite series then I would be irrational.

I am a Star Wars and a Star Trek fan and both sides bash the other. I can be a fan of more than one group of movies in the same genre.
I still consider myself a fan of Star Wars just not a fan of Lucas anymore. I loves my lightsabre and my kotor and the originals. I am also a fan of Star Trek. I have resigned my position as chief engineer on an email sim because of time constraints, but I still love the series. And yes, I am going to read all of the Firefly books and comics and may just write some fanfic.
I still bash the prequels, I still bash Voyager & Enterprise and should Firefly do any wrong I will bash that too. I love all three unconditionally, but sometimes I just don't like certain aspects of them. I can say one is better than the other either. If all three were drowing, I'd drown too rather than only be able to save on of them.

At least if LOTR, Matrix, Star Trek, or even Spiderman (to a much lesser degree) fans bash Star Wars it is coming from a base that has proven to have some power in supporting their respective passions to iconic status. I also jumped into those stories before prequel bashing became a sport for shitheads.
I have nothing invested in Firefly and at this point I never will. I look forward to bashing the hell out of someones passion for no reason whatsoever. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
Don't worry, I will manufacture one --even where a problem does not exist-- just like the prequel bashers.

I support the films of Kevin Smith despite the fact that a considerable amount of his fanbase that comes and posts here apparently have the IQ's of a strawberry slurpee. I base my judgments on the product, not its consumers. But hey, feel free to miss out on I get the feeling you'd probably dig.
