Well, I thought that I would start a little deal here on new shows that I have been addicted too. I am of course still strung out on South Park, Scrubs, and Dead Like me, but now a few new shows have entered into my must see list and since little else is going on right now I thought I would share them with you in case you all haven't had the chance to catch them.
Boston Legal... The spin off of the Practice. I thought Spader brought a new life to the show. I was sad to see it go but I really like the new show. The often times cruel sarcastic humor is right up my alley. I would of course recommend it to any and all.
Drawn Together- new animated show on Comedy Central. I don't know why shock humor shows are addictive to me but for whatever reason they are. This show is funny as hell and it has Adam from the Man show in it so it will be hard for me to miss. A-
Well, those are a few of mine I have more but I'll let you guys go.

Drawn Together is pretty good. I finally got to see it last week, I wasn't sure how it was going to be, but it turned out to be hilarious.
I've been watching a lot of mt2 lately. I don't know why, most of the bands they show on there suck. The only real reason I've been keeping an eye on it lately is to see what competition I am up against as far as music goes. Although The Killers got my attention, I got the cd the day I heard that song. The whole damn cd is great. Kind of a mixture between The White Stripes, as far as simplicity goes, and Muse.
The one thing that frustrates me about MTV2 is that they don't show any Muse EVER. Yet they ate Franz, The Killers, and some other shit band. Muse are probably the best band I've heard in years. So why isn't everyone supporting the Muse?

I watched about half of the first episode of Drawn Together. I only laughed at the "This Black Chick's Tongue" song. Didn't really seem worth watching.

I'm in your court. The show is trying too hard to be funny, and as a result it falls flat more often than not. It also has this ADD ridden editing that makes it a pain to watch. The show has some potential, but I'm sure Comedy Central won't fund it.

Zyron, glad you brought up da music. I don't get MTV2, but wish I did cause most of the stuff on MTV and VH1 get so overplayed you see most everything they have to offer in an hour or two. (probably an hour more than I should watch) I would probably like the "muse", but have never heard of them. Have any thouhts on Scott Wylen's malnutrition? (Velvet Revolver via Stone Temple Pilot's fame)
I think we should all get on the satellite radio band wagon with "JJ". I have listened to it, and it is God. No commercial bullshit. No interuptions. Regular radio just sucks after you've experienced it.
As far as "New stuff" I just recently discovered some of the "energy drinks" on the market. Anyone have an opinion on which ones are better? (Speed Stack, Red-Bull, Arizona Tea etc?????????) I am considering them as my new drug-of-choice.
When does Mtv or VH1 even play music? it must be during the middle of the night because i haven't seen it. Even Fuse, a channel that used to be All music is starting to have dumbass shows on all the time.

I already told China_Toe he isn't allowed to like Muse, and I could turn this into the "I have better taste in music than all of you" thread, however I will only mention the band TV on the Radio. Not particularly new, but the most inventive band I've heard in five years.
Evidently you are not alone in feeling that way. Looks (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/news/04-11/17.shtml) like they just won some sort of prize.

Good for them. Although now they're going to get more exposure and everyone will be looking for them, and they won't be cool anymore. Now I have to find something else.
might i suggest the Liars (http://www.liarsliarsliars.com/)?

You're just asking for me to commandeer this thread, aren't you? Well, I'm not going to mention Mellowdrone (http://www.mellowdrone.com/) no matter how much you ask.
you are Fashionably Uninvited for posting a link to the Worst Song Ever.

You are exactly right the only time MTV or VH1 seem to play videos is in the middle of the night. Insomniacs like me get caught up then or in the very short period in the morning that is devoted to videos. I think it's called "video wake-up". Sometimes it breaks up the news loops on MSNBC or the insults on IMUS. I use it strictly as a distraction. It does seem that most popular music is pretty much crap. Usher is a prime example. It is fun to catch a once local band like "Bowling for Soup" on the tube though.

I really don't like MTV any more. They don't play music videos enough. VH1 is okay, but they can get boring. We don't get MTV2 here.
To be honest with you.....all I want is Headbangers Ball. That was the best [censored] show MTV has ever had.

The place to see alt-rock videos, before (and during) the early-90's co-opt by those evil, evil corporations. /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif

[/ QUOTE ] I'm sorry this is really bothering me. Did you even watch Headbanger's Ball? Ricky Rachtman didn't even like that show and he was the freakin' host. He got fired for answering fan mail wondering why they didn't play real metal. He wrote back saying that he agreed the music they were showing wasn't any good, but he didn't choose the content.
120 minutes was a mainstay on MTV since it's inception; even before Alternative Nation. It was the best show for little known acts, and a good jumping point for some of the actual artists that made it into heavy rotation.
After it was shipped over to MTV2, the final show was last summer. Considering it's termination was rather quiet proves the state of music and MTV's true intentions.

Yes, I watched Headbanger's Ball. I will admit that they didn't always play good music or even Metal Bands, but to me, it was the best thing going on MTV.
120 Minutes was a great show. It came on late Sunday nights i think. So many good videos... why did it have to be canceled? it's not like they are showing anything worth watching in that timeslot now.
VH1 had something called sexsational 80's or something like that on last night. I sat through about 15 minutes of it and it was basically all about edible underwear and Dr. Ruth.
No music videos!

You can't even compare 120 Minutes and Headbanger's Ball. 120 Minutes always had way better content -- I mean, where else am I going to see a damned Tricky video? --, but Headbanger's Ball just rocks out. They're totally different. Can't knock someone who just wants to rock.
Tricky had a video? I must've missed that one. Damn! Was he naked and famous in it? /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif
I saw a bit of that Sex-ational 80's business last night. I'll tell you this, there wasn't that much sex going on in the 80's for me. I remember lamenting with my friends that if we were growing up in the 70's we'd be getting tail all the time, and that chicks these days were prudes.

The early 90's were rough. Hoo boy! But I have to admit things are much better now. I wouldn't trade it to go back to the 70's. I mean, I'm practically chafing.
At least......I think that's chafe.

Hey, Karma. Is your new avatar a clip of a guy running in to rob a convenience store, dropping his gun on the counter, and running out? (So tiny, hard to tell.)

Cool avatar. Jason Brown is right, it does look like he's trying to rob the place. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Yep, that's exactly what it is. That's as cropped as I could get it without losing either the clerk or his funny swagger as he runs out.
I was under 12 in the 80's. All I remember is singing 'She Bop' and thinking it was just a silly song to sing, nothing more. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Is the clerk Superman? Everyone knows Superman can resist bullets but has to dodge any guns thrown at him.

It was called Retrosexual. Yeah, I briefly paused on that channel as I was surfing last night.
