THe man is so cool we even launched a section of our site based on the word cool equaling Depp, and who was Depp. It never ever gets updated, but the name Deppcot is a laugh. Well, would have been had I not just ruined it.

Johnny Depp is probably the finest actor about these days - in my opinion.

He is one of the few movie stars who is willing to take HUGE risk with his career if he believes in the project - note: Don Quixote the failed Terry Gilliam project and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas to name a couple.

I believe this is why he is able to capture the imagination on screen because he puts his ALL into every project and is willing to take risks.

There are several actors who choose roles specifically to win oscars Tom Hanks springs to mind i can't think that good as he is Tom would not have played Edward Scissorhands?

Pirates of the Carribean will be a test for Depp. Even though his last few movies were based on true stories....Sleepy Hollow excluded.....it will see how good his acting skills really are, I think. I think he'll do fine, but this kind of movie has no in-between. It's either going to be really good or really suck.
