Why did this forum go away in the first place?

As my old name last year I spouted off a lot of [censored], and most of it prolly wasn't constructive, but sort of thought of this as what it was in Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back where one person said " [censored] Jay and Silent Bob [censored] them in their stupid asses."
I guess saying all the stuff back then wasn't really cool, but what can I say except sorry to all the people who I was mean to. I am never really serious anyway. By the way my name was sumthin like snoochiepooch, what a dumb name, huh?

Basically (this is for the guy who asked the question, since I'm too lazy to respond twice), the old boards turned into complete shite--people ONLY used them to either quote Jay &amp; Bob or to call each other the rudest names they could. There was no discussion or anything going on, just people talking trash and scaring off anyone who actually wanted to have somewhat intelligent discourse. Which is what I'm determined to avoid this time, leading to me going the other way with censoring bad words and deleting some posts. I hate to have to do that but I think maybe there's a LOT of young kids here who finally think they have the freedom to say "[censored]" a lot, and I'd like this place to be more than just a place where the kids say "[censored]" all day.

Ideally, people would actually even read the content at the Web site and discuss it here (uh, by "here," I mean over in the Columns forum), too...
