In this case it isn't really spam because it conforms to our internal rule of posting links. Sal was a contributor to the main site with Broken Donuts. He isn't a stranger to most of the older regulars, and spent his time getting to know the locals first.

Many enjoyed reading his stuff, so he is just linking to the new location for them.

Also I dont mean to toot my own horn but I have been here since the first board, and I consider myslef a regular.

And I am not trying to start a fight with you here but, just because he wrote a colum or too he can post links to bad movie paradoys?
Also he only has 130is posts, thats not really getting to know people.

You are missing the point yet again. We only get pissed off at newbies who have never participated in this board beyond their spam post.

If you posted a link to your stuff we wouldn't consider it spam either. Just because you don't like his stuff doesn't mean it is spam. If we start to bash everybody for posting threads then people stop coming here. Responsible newbie bashing is the word of the day.

And by the way, anybody who contributed weekly to the Poop Shoot site should have the right to contribute anything here. It counts just as much as number of posts.

If tooting your own horn means you have a different browser window open and you aren't trashing former site cartoonists (which you should know since you say you were here since th ebeginning), then toot away.

If you are tooting your grammar and spelling horns, or your fair discussion or openness to people before kneejerk slamming horns, you may want to take them to Dottie at the bike shop. I can't hear any toots.

Just to be an ass, I read the rules and according to the FAQ

" Participants may not use the Forums to post or transmit advertisements or commercial solicitations of any kind."
His two thread posts (One in the wrong forum) were clearly breaking this rule.

There is no mention of an admin having the right to allow Spamming or breaking of the rule. Are you saying that he can post granny porn or call everyone a ballicker because he knows the Ryall? Because I agreed to the rules when I joined up and I assume he did too. Ryal hasnt said I cant break the rules, oh wait he did it was in the...FAQ!

So yeah, I win. But I understand there is a unwritten rule of Regualrs being allowed to pimp whatever they want. But according to the FAQ that would be wrong, never queastion the FAQ it is all knowing
