I've seen some weird stuff- out in west Texas, a little town called Sabinal. We went down to the hollow- spooky place, lots of history. The north side of the hollow was verdant and alive. The south- dead and grey. We went looking for a "ghost" tombstone that you supposedly could see on the south side. My brother-in-law and his best friend climbed the barbed wire fence and I hung out, waiting beside a large burnt out mesquite stump that was doing double duty as a fence post- it was about seven feet tall. Allan and Sean disappeared in the trees and the mist and then after about five minutes they started screaming. I heard them running back towards me and I heard somethings else running towards the west. As I waited by the fence, I saw some movement out of the corner of my eye. I looked directly at the tree stump and this- thing, was leaning up against it. It was about six feet tall, spider thin and it had two black holes where it's eyes should have been. It stepped away from the tree and ran towards the east. Allan and Sean came over the fence and we left as fast as the minivan would go. That was about fifteen years ago but I remember it like it was yesterday. Allan and Sean refuse to talk about it. Most people think I'm full of sh*t, but I've talked to about six other people who have seen something like this.

I'll make my post short and just agree with every one of Matt1's answers.

My favorite mystery: The Caddyshack curse. Every time Bill Murray proves what a great actor he is, a bit more of Chevy Chase's talent vanishes.

I like to tell ghost stories, but this is my favorite because it's absolutely true. This comes from my sister and brother-in-law. To give you background, these are two of the more conservative and logically minded people I know. They have no interest in making up stories.

Just after they moved into their new home, they started settling into a new sleep routine of going to bed around 9 PM. One night, as they had shut off the TV and were getting ready to sleep, there was a huge "pop" that reverberated through the whole house. Now, we've all heard a house settle before with wood swelling and shrinking from heat or moisture -- that's what they figured it was and went to bed. Same thing happened the next night. Then, the next.

Same exact time. Just before 9:00. "Bam!" echoing through the house.

So after a couple weeks of this, they had grown a little suspicious and were timing the sound and searching for a possible source. They searched all of the rooms. They searched through the basement. They listened from outside the house. Finally, Dan remembered about the attic, and went up there to examine the rafters. He couldn't find anything up there and there was nothing stored in the attic, so he started coming down. That's when he noticed a croquet mallet leaning up against one of the rafters in the back. He yelled down for my sister, Kate to listen carefully as he took a modest swing with the mallet and hit the beam it was leaning against.

It was the noise.

Dan took the mallet outside, broke it in half, threw it in the garbage and it never happened again.

UFO's are of course real. I see them everyday. I have no idea what is in the sky and that makes it an unidentified flying object. However, if you mean alien space crafts then I am not sure. I have no doubt that there is life on other planets but I have no idea if that life is flying around here.

Area 51 is a military facility where experimental aircraft are tested. Bigfoot and Nessie are either real or fake, depending on your level of sophistication. The same with Atlantis.

I just bought the X-Files motion picture on DVD yesterday. It's been so long since I saw it--I really bought it for old times' sake. It was so funny, since I've been working with "Big Brother" and the evil that is the Federal Emergency Management Agency. I guess I'm part of the conspiracy now.

It kind of awakened the latent conspiracy theorist in me though, and I liked it /forums/images/icons/grin.gif I think we all enjoy a good conspiracy!

That's pretty freaky story. I have no ghost stories to tell, no encounters of ghost or alien kinds. Actually, I forgot, I did hear one from my friends father once.
My friends family lived in a basement while the rest of his house was being built. They used a woodstove for heat. One night when everyone was asleep one of the logs rolled out of the woodstove. My friend's father (Dave) felt something grabbing his foot at the end of the bed, so he naturally woke up and to his suprise saw his grandfather pointing out his door towards the family room. Now his grandfather had died a while before this had happened so needless to say Dave was then wide awake (and probably scared shitless, but that's not part of the story) Anyways he goes out to the room and finds the log just before a fire catches. The ghost of the grandfather saves the family's lives.

Some say the riddle of Atlantis has been solved. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5623857/) Bigfoot I put in league with the Chupacabra. Maybe there's something to it, but I think it's just an undocumented creature. Nothing supernatural.

Ghosts I could go on about at length. I've lived in at least two places that were consistently providing evidence. One was an apartment over a funeral home. I was pretty much never alone. I also worked in a movie theater that was absolutely haunted. Everyone who worked there accepted it, including skeptics and athiests. Some research gave us the name of the girl who hung herself in our projection booth in the early 80's, so we knew who to address when things would happen.

What was really weird was when she would respond in her own way. One example: I could feel a cool pushing behind me as I checked all the doors and shut down the power for the night. I got on the phone with a friend I was meeting, let them know I was almost done and that Liz wanted to be left alone. Immediately, a perfectly good ceiling tile dropped about ten feet from me.

If it was an isolated incident, that would be one thing, but stuff happened all the time. Hard as I'm sure it is to believe, we just got used to it. She wasn't mean or anything (though something there might have been, very long story) so we didn't worry.

I always had this thought that Egyptians were from another planet. Either dropped off by a spaceship, or some sort of stargate or fog-gate that we haven't uncovered yet.

Also, I've always wondered, when you look at very old religious based artwork, a sphere-like shape was always drawn around the head; which everyone assumes is a halo. I think it maybe could be a space helmet. Just maybe.

As for bigfoot, he made a good movie and now he's running from the cameras.

What I say is indeed true, though sadly the theater was turned into rubble, then a Wal-Mart, about eight years ago.

My ghost story isn't really a ghost story, but it scared me so much that I had to take off running. When I worked at a summer camp 2 years ago, I decided to go for a walk with some people down a path at night in the woods next to a lake, with practically no moonlight. At first the atmosphere was relaxing, but all of the sudden we heard an engine running. Now, this was scary for two reasons. The first is that along this trail there are a bunch of abandoned cars from back when the path was wider and used as a road, back in the 70's or so. The other is that this path is barricaded on both ends and the next day during daylight we looked and saw no possible way to get any vehicle on this path. But there it was, and as we creeped forward to get a look at it, the headlights flashed on and the truck began moving foward. My friends and I bolted back down the path, jumped into my car and I peeled out, running over some rocks that nearly gutted the bottom of my vehicle. This isn't a really scary story, but it is a mystery as to who was on that path at night. To be honest, the one barricade is a swing gate, but it's for government use only, to check a drainage line. Now, what municipality has its workers inspecting a normal drainpipe in the middle of the night in complete darkness with no working lights on?

UFO's: I think they are linked with Area 51, but not used by Aliens, but actual people. I think that the government are studying on other ways of flight, other than traditional planes, and practicing on space-craft type aircrafts so that we can fly in space like Tie Fighters, or X-wing type stuff..

Bigfoot: Just a crazy 7 foot guy, who has a costume, who loves to scare people shitless, and undoubtably has a job in the media Somewhere..

Atlantis: Probably was a city, but it was probably destroyed by its own people, and Flooding or sinking could have been a metaphor for civil implosion..

Loch Ness: No possible way. The lake is too small to carry something That huge, I'd believe it if it were in the Ocean, but not a lake.

Aliens: I'm sure there are other creature-inhabiting planets. Thats pretty sad if there aren't, speaking of how huge the Universe is.. if there are Water droplets found on Mars, then water can be anywhere, water creates bacteria which expands into other creatures and blah..

Pyramids: It's kinda impossible to think that Slaves did that work, because they would need to have crews in the millions. Even if it were slaves, the positioning of every rock on the pyramid, is perfect.

Stone Hendge: Was created by very intelligent people. They used it for sacrificial reasons, and a way to tell time.

Biblical Science: Is an oxymoron.

Now: Ghosts.. we're hitting the good stuff. I haven't encountered a ghost personally, but I wouldn't doubt they exist. I've had dreams, where I was talking to my best friend about current events, as if he wasn't dead, and exactly as I remember him. Thats kinda how I got over his death, cuz one of my dreams I talked to him about how he felt about my depression over his death, and he told me that he felt horrible about it, and I realized that I should just move on with my life and not shed another tear on the subject.
<I'm Kent Brochman, and thats My Two Cents.>

There is this haunted manor in a park around here though. I think I"m going to try to get a few of my friends to go with me and camp out there in the future. About 50 years ago, there was a big fire, killing al hte children inside, and people sleep there now and they say they ca hear their screams, and running, and some have spotted a few children severely burned and shit.. So I'm gonna check that shizzle out.

First Story
I have seen a UFO up close and personal. I was out on a camping trip while I was in Boy Scouts. Me and my friend had a debate early in the day, so we got to the campsite too late to pitch a tent. We ended up sleeping in my dad's van. After everybody went to sleep, me and Brian were talking. He was on the bench seat in the back with his head inside his sleeping bag. I was on the passenger bucket seat reclined back. I looked out the window, and about 50 feet away I saw a flying craft unlike any I have ever seen before outside of the movies. It looked alot like the craft in "The Flight of the Navigator", but much bigger. I told Brian that there was a UFO outside. He of course was skeptical, but I got him to look. Right after he saw it, it shot off like a bullet. It was at a dead stop, hovering by us, and then it was gone almost instantly. Crazy stuff. Do I think it was aliens? No. That is not to say that I don't believe that there are otherworldly lifeforms. There has to be. There are far too many stars in our galaxy for there not to be.

Second Story
My Uncle Paul lived in San Diego in the late 80's early 90's. He was living there with a guy he grew up with and that guy's family. In the house there was a hallway with a trouble-causing light fixture. It would turn on and off whenever it felt like it. Both my uncle and his buddy were engineers, so they figured they could fix it without any problems. They checked all the wiring and connections. Everything looked good. The light continued to have a mind of its own. They rewired the light and switch. They still couldn't control the light. That part of the story is just mildly creepy. But, it gets worse. Their daughter (my uncle's buddy and his wife's, not my uncle and his buddy's) had an imaginary friend who just happened to live in the wall of the hallway. Creepier. She looked just like Carol Ann from Poltergeist. Extra creepy. They all ended up moving back to Colorado for an unrelated reason. After a month they got a call from the new owners of the house asking if they ever had weird things happen at the house. They thought he was just talking about the light. Scarily he was not. Apparently crazier things were happening, all the lights in the house were flashing, things flying across the room. I guess the house ended up making it onto a TV show about haunted houses. Spoooooooooooooooky.

I do not think that "Biblical Science" is an oxymoron at all. I would love to be a Biblical Scientist like Gabriel Byrne in Stigmata. The only job that I think would be better would be bomb-building.

Ah...Ghost Stories.....this really happened to me.....

It was in the late 80's and I was stationed in the Philippines. I was married at the time and my wife and I moved into this small duplex. Soon after moving in, she started complaining that odd things were happening while I was at work, like she would hear strange laughter, the bed bounced around while she was taking a nap, along with some other stuff. I of course laughed at her and said she was imagining things. She did some research and found out that the owner was an Atheist and hadn't had the house blessed when it was built. She asked if her mom could stay with us for a while, and I reluctantly agreed. About a week later, I came home from a midnight shift to find both of them sitting on the fron porch crying and her mom's bag was packed. They told be that while her mom was napping on the couch, it lifted up off of the ground. Once again, I just laughed and said they were just imagining things. After taking her mom home, I was finally able to go to bed. Since my wife hadn't slept all night, she decided to try and sleep too. I am not sure how long I had been asleep, but I awoke to an odd feeling that someone was sitting on my chest. I opened my eyes and didn't see anyone, but I could move, with the exception of turning my head to my wife. I tried to call out her name, but I couldn't catch my breath. Just then, I heard a very deep gutteral laugh, then the wait was lifted and I could move again.

We moved to a new house about a week later. Yes, we made sure it had been blessed before we moved into it.

We had a very fat lady die in my theater. She just dropped dead before X-Men 1. She was so large the paramedics couldnt get her out without help from the employee's...the creepy thing, the light timing in the theater never worked right agian.
Then at the other theater the office was up stairs in the projection booth, so when we were counting money it would be like 2 in the morning no one else in th theater but us. And you would walk by and look down into the empty theaters and sometimes you swear you would see something move just out of view.
I only saw this once, and I NEVER went to go look (i'm a chicken) but many others said they had the same experience.

Aw, it was nothing- That was actually a pretty abridged account of the incident. If I had more time to go into more detail, I doubt anyone would ever drive out there again. Several people have gone missing in that area, one girl was in my brother-in-law's class. She was grounded and snuck out anyway. She decided to walk the railroad tracks to the next town to go to a party. The tracks ran right through the hollow. All they found of her was a hair ribbon underneath the trestle, tied to a column. I keep meaning to go back out there and investigate some of this stuff- it truly has this Lovecraftian vibe to whole area.

That Pentagon video is interesting.

When I was at Arlington National Cemetary in Feb. they show you on the tour where the (or a) plane flew so low before it hit that it shorn off the tops of the trees. There is a distinct trail that you can see where their tops are all similar size and damage.

After watching those clips though it does seem odd that the impact didn't cause more damage. I had always wondered why there wasn't a greater explosion.

I for one would like to see the video that were taken by the G-Men.

Razorback
10-04-2004, 02:58 AM
Yes, I can refute every single item in that video with one question... where is the plane that was carrying those people who died that day?

While you are wrestling with that, I want you to explain what kind of missile creates that kind of explosion and does that amount of damage? Also, if it was a smaller plane, what kind of plane was it and how did it create that much damage with that kind of fireball?

While you are researching that information, I want you to check out a conspiracy theory site that details all of the "evidence" of this case while also claiming that the attack on the WTC was also staged. (http://thewebfairy.com/911/noplane/index.htm)

While you are spanking your monkey to that retardation I want you to stop for a second, wipe up the mess with an old sock and check out this site. (http://www.geoffmetcalf.com/pentagon/pentagon-email_20020316.html) It won't make you happy to read a logical explanation of what actually happened, I know... it isn't as clever and absolutely psychotic as the other stuff (you should probably avoid it) but if you can stomach it I suggest you read it. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Look, I don't want to come off as an ass here (though I just can't help it) but some people on this site are absofuckinlutely nuts if they, for even a second, thought "yeah, you know... it could have been a conspiracy in broad daylight with hundreds of possible witnesses staged by the FAA, American Airlines, all of the US media, the military, Pentagon, current administration, and every person who was on site after the accident."

The "something else" is more speculation, but Liz tended to hide or move things. Something actually attacked here and there. Things wold fly at people on very rare occasion. The center ring for one of the film platters, which I was meticulous about securing, popped out while I was breaking down a print. We sort of turbocharged our equipment, so when the ring popped, the print flew (at neck level) into the wall right next to me, shattering the tiles it hit. If I wasn't confident in my having secured the ring, and had seen it gradually come out instead of just pop, I would maybe chalk it up to random mishap. Since it most likely would've killed me, I think it was mean-spirited, pardon the expression.

Also, around that same time, while we were all in the office arguing about something, one girl started slapping another on the shoulder, bug-eyed, as she saw the hairs on that girl's arm go up. She rolled her arm over and we watched child-sized bite marks form. She screamed, ran out, and didn't enter the building for a week, didnt try and work there again for two.

I could easily go on for hours about that place, and while I know most people will think it's BS, I don't care. I know what happened, and I'm convinced.

Tell us. Sometimes telling people about things that scare you, gets you over them better. Or something. I don't know. I'm not a psychologist, doctor, lawyer, or priest.

We'd stay after and watch the movies sometimes. Doing the all clear, a little buzzed, at 3AM? Not easy on the nerves.

One night, at a different theater, we were doing an all-nighter clearing out the stuff stored behind the screens, since we couldn't do that during the work day. It was one employee and I left at 4AM. We were carrying a bench down the aisle of a theater when I saw somebody walk through the lobby. We freaked, moved the bench, and called it a night.

I love stories like this. Gives me chills.

As this threads a few years old, since then, has your brother-in-law or his friend ever revealed what they saw? I wanna know what they saw!

And what history does Sabinal have? Have you been back since?

I've been out there once since 1992 and not down in the hollow. I haven't bothered to ask my brother-in-law about it since- I know he'll avoid it. I think he chose to forget it. As far as the history, Sabinal was founded in about 1854 as a trading post and a rail station. It was the jumping off point for a lot of traffic down into Mexico around the time of the war between the States. It's just a sleepy little cow town now- lots of agriculture and not much else. Lot's of wide open, empty spaces. It is kind of cool to drive out on a white gravel road on a moonless, cloudless night- the stars are so damn bright, you don't need your headlights.

And then whatever hell this... thing... was, runs out in front of you and you never really care to go back.

I did a sketch of it once about two years ago and had to throw it away.

It was about six and a half feet tall and had skin texture like bark.
The holes in it's face were just... holes.

I can't believe I'm putting this out there...

I looked around a while back- nobody really has a name for it. I had one (clown) tell me it was an undernourished bigfoot. I've been calling it a stick man or tree man. The couple of people that I've talked to that have seen something like this don't really have a name for it either- they saw it in the Big Thicket (East Texas forest preserve) Like my encounter, there were about four or five of these things and they blended in with the environment pretty well. I saw a video a while back, but it was a fake- some sort of blue jean ad- I think it was for Diesel or something. The thing in the video moved and looked a lot like the thing I saw, but what I saw had no eyes, no mouth, no nose- just blank holes. Freaked me out. Still does.

It's broad daylight, there are kids playing outside, and I'm listening to Billy Joel.
None of these things can change the fact that that picture, along with your story, scares the shit out of me. Really. Fucking. Creepy.

Hopefully it isn't a mean scary monster. Maybe he was just playing tag or something.

Yeah, all I could find was a few sites regarding Bigfoot sightings in Texas (http://www.texasbigfoot.com/)(Fig 6. on the photographs page kind of looks like a slim being, but could be anything, really), and a map highlighting the areas of sightings within Texas (http://www.texasbigfoot.com/map.html).

Perhaps if you were the first to see such a creature, you could get it named after you?!

I've just been watching these strange orange lights/objects in the sky, shooting off over the sea, suddenly pulsing and them disappearing.

They certainly weren't plane lights(?) - weren't flashing. I could see real planes moving over the clear sky. These were closer and solid orange objects, moving twice as fast in the opposite direction. One would pulse into nothing, and another would start up and follow the same course as the one before it. Saw about ten of these.

Very odd. Very cool to see.

Couple of years ago I was walking my dog. I live near a lake so I always pass there because its an awesome lake. One time I walked him at like 9 or 10 pm. I was giving my dog all the attention (because he was a terrible dog who can sniff 9 trees in 3 seconds... Yeah, hes that fast) But for a quick second I look to my right (the lake) and I see something huge kind of doing what whales do when they blow their hole (haha) but it didn't blow its hole (haha) it just broke the surface and went down again. It was way too big to be a catfish (have a lot of those fuckers). It was like hippo big. After I saw it I stared for like 4 seconds and bailed... Im not gonna be a horror movie intro where I die first so that the audience gets the movie's full attention

Not gonna happen, hombre xD

Sometimes, fecal matter can slide up and under the edge of the bowl where it will float, out of sight, before being flushed over the weir and through the trapway.

Mystery solved.

I might be wrong, but for some reason Ghoulies Go To College is coming to mind.

[EDIT] I watched the trailer. It seems they come from the toilet so it may very well be the original, as I haven't seen it.
