I say , it's not the man, it's the slot. Letterman kicked Carson and Lenos' asses in that spot, when he moved to CBS and got the earlier spot he started a downward spiral of suck, and now his show can only be described as a completely tired unfunny suck-fest.
If and when Conan moves up, he will gradually begin to suck, just a little at first , and then, in three to five years... Complete suck-fest. Meanwhile, whoever ends up with the later slot will gradually become the cool one.( as long it's not Killlborn ) It's the 11:30 spot that has the magical nonsuckability .

[/ QUOTE ] They have to take five years to sanitize Conan for his new time slot.

You think so? I think Conan is the next Carson--he's meant for that time slot. Doesn't matter one way or the other to me, 'cause I can catch him on Comedy Central at 7, but I think Conan's got the charisma and the credentials to make it happen, and he's a lot more than his time slot.
I just can't see Conan ever running out of good material.. I hope you're wrong, Wingman.
