View Full Version : Hitting the gym

I would imagine that most of us regular posters here spend quite a bit of time on the computer (work or play). So I was just wondering, in order to keep firm and healthy, how often do you guys work out, do sports, or whatever passes for strenuous physical activities (even if it means just struggling to get off the couch). Me, I hit the courts regularly every Saturday for some b-ball and any other day that I don't have work or classes in the late afternoons. That as well as Kendo twice a week. (Men!!! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif)

So what's your exercise schedule like?

I play softball once a week, broomball once a month and I bike to work (19 blocks) 3x a week. Ijust started this routine so we'll see how it goes. I'm not one for going to actual gyms.

I have a fancy shmancy gym membership, but I get tired of people yelling and trying to show off their biceps. When I go, I usually end up chilling in the hot tub, or just standing in the pool, chilling off.

I have been trying to run/walk more, and as much as I love walking, it isn't getting me into shape. Now, mind you, I am alright as far as being thin enough, but I'm not in shape in the true sense. I am focusing more on cardiovascular workouts these days, as opposed to pumping iron, like most gym-going guys.

By the way, while I'm on the subject, I think Bally's sucks, because of all the crap there, they have no basketball court.

And, another random note--I used to play soccer every year, up until when I graduated from high school. I never played in college, except for one summer, and I miss it so. Soccer is the greatest sport of all time, in my humble opinion. If it wasn't so darned hard to get a good team together, I'd probably be out playing now.

Does masturbating to internet porn count as working out?

No, I seem to spend all day and night on the computer between both jobs but still squeeze in a few workouts a week. But since good gyms are as hard to find as good movie theaters or restuarants in SD, I joined a tennis league last week. Never even played before, other than hitting with friends, but I seem to be holding my own (and not in the way that I referred to above). It's a surprisingly good workout--they bust our ass.

I keep wanting to check out another yoga class, too. Other than being 90% hot women, it was also a ridiculously good workout the couple times I did it. Much better than I expected.

The bike-to-beach thing is easier now, so there's that, too. Basically, if I can shut out the world with the iPod for an hour, working out is fun.

I weigh like 110 lbs. I don't excercise because I'd probably just hurt myself.

But, I'm not a guy... if I was I'd probably like to have a little beer gut. They give you character.

Started a regime a few weeks ago until I got sick this week with a cold. Should be back on my feet and working out early next week I hope.

Schedule:

M - Upper body weightlifting
T - 2 laps around the park in 20 mins or less, around 3 or 4 miles equivalent.
W - Lower body workout

Repeat the cycle until sunday rolls on, which is my free day where I don't have to move a muscle if I don't want to /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Dude, I have the Pimp of an excersize room in my basement. Its just a multi-purpose bench, for sit ups, leg curls, and benching, basically, but it can be set for incline benching too.... Anyway.. me and my friend Keith, set it up so its Pimped.

We got a nice ass system in there, with a cd player, and we set up like 10 black lights, throughout the room. Its really tight. Its really relaxing for hte mind as well. Because it literally takes you out of time and space. So really its a real good work out for hte mind as well as the body.

Also I have 2 ropes, tied to my ceiling, for pull ups, a tred mill, and in my other part of the basement, the bigger half, me and my brother Pimped out with eerything from videogames, to a huge ass stereo system, and all that, it also has a punching bag in there. Cuz I'm a Muay Thai Fighter.

Damn you beat me to it, I was minutes away from making fun of that too.

So lets look at what China_Town says he is
An American Male/Female (depending on who you ask) Who is into Asian Philosphy with a computer with over a 1000 viruses, and an Uncle who trained dogs in Vietnam who is being sent to Iraq, also China_town is a Guitar playing Ninja.

So let me break it down in real life
The Ninja, Uncle, and Virus thing is all false
The Asian culture things boils down to, going to the mall eating at Panda express and knowing alittle about Buddha, and maybe having a "healing" bracelet or some other trinkets.

Let me boil it down even more
Stupid Middle Schooler with a computer in his room, and who cant/wont get the point

Well, being in the Air Force, we have mandatory fitness standards we have to meet. To meet these standards, my work center goes to the gym, as a group, 3 times a week. We normally start with about 5-10 minutes of stretching, some exercises (crunches, push-ups, jumping jacks, mountain climbers, flutter kicks, leg lifts, etc.), then we will run anywhere from 1.5 to 3 miles. Once this is done, you go work out on your own. We just have to spend at least a total of 60 minutes each of these 3 days actually working out.

Besides these 3 days, we are encouraged to work out on our own on other days of the week. I used to, but I don't any more. I really need to start back up though.

You really do go out of your way to figure me out in the stupidest ways possible don't you? You insult me like its the prime goal of your life, to get me to leave this site. You don't get the point you fuckhead. I'm not leaving, because you guys want me to. Get a clue. I'm in college. I'm smarter than you can ever comprehend. For all you know I'm one of Kevin Smiths friends. Or in fact Am Kevin Smith, just being an [censored]. But I'm not Kevin Smith. You're such a jackass. Do you stay up all night thinking of shady insults and stuff? Because thats what it looks like. I'm sorry if I have a fascination about ancient cultures, My p.c. did have 1500 viruses on it.

Who ever said my uncle was a ninja? I said he was a dog trainer. They do Use dogs in the military, you fuckin genius. If you had any sort of a brain you could figure that out. I don't know where you came up with the Ninja thing tho. The fact is. Your a middleschooler with nothing else to do. I do play the guitar. and I"m going to be hittin some stages up in ohio in a few months. I'm talkin about: The Agora Theatre and all the other concert halls. Because my friends got connections...

You act like you know who I am. You've no idea. Its funny cuz I just replied to this work out thread in response to my daily work out. And you've boiled it down to another China Town bashing thread. Oh yea and Fuck you too Smurfy. You're just a bitch.

You claimed that your Uncle was going to be sent to Iraq. Which is bullshit, if he served in Vietnam he would be in his 50's or 60's, therefore he wouldnt be able to be sent to Iraq unless every dog trainer in the US Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and Airforce DIED. I never doubted that your uncle served in Vietnam, I doubted that you said he might be sent back into service.

Muay Thai boxing? Interesting. Is that not the one where elbows and knees are utilized often? How about a match off between us? To settle all this newbie crap once an for all?

Your Muay Thai skills against my Kendo skills?

Normally I wouldn't resort to anykind of violen.......actually I would. But I'm doing this cause you called a respected member of this community a bitch.

Muay Thai

[/ QUOTE ] Isn't that a fruity rum-based drink? If so, then I am into Muay Thai boxing, too. My workouts usually consist of chasing a two-year-old around the grocery store. The only time I get more of a workout than that is around the holidays. Everybody is in town visiting the parents. We get really drunk at night, decide, while drunk, to play football the next day. I usually can't walk for a couple of days after that. Keeps me in all the shape that I need.

ZyronDrazil
09-27-2004, 05:34 PM
Eternal. He's gone now, probably got hit by a truck, who knows. He's out of our lives. You can try tracking him down if you want. Get don king to host it on pay per view, I'd pay to see you woop his ass. Who wouldn't?

Muay Thai isn't just kicks and elboes. I don't call sprint/running, not jogging or walking, 5 miles a day, any joke.

I just started getting into this shit about a month ago, it's hella worth the lessons and all, but I thought I was in shape, man you've no idea. Maybe You know, your in Kendo and all, but does your trainer punch you in the stomach while you're doing sit ups? Or drop medicine balls on your gut? Maybe they do. Maybe they don't. Alls I know is that I'm hurtin right now.

DangerSeeker

I'm late getting into this, but I saw Muay Thai and immediately thought of the drink, and saw he was joking around. I know he was a bit annoying at times, but when he did try and be funny, or post on topic, and was very clearly NOT antagonizing anybody, but just trying to post his opinions, marks would just attack. Anything and everything, needed or not.

What I've found funny is that for all of his calling china a dumbass, marks' spelling and grammar is usually just a hair worse. Irony! All of the talk of how much china was pissing people off came from those picking the fights. Brilliant! Am I the only one who remembers Psychofiend? How bad he was when he started, and yet he slowly got more or less accepted. Marks, did china secretly piss on your hush puppies? What's the damage?

There, I worked out some aggression. We were talking about working out, right?

I am in fact. Dondonana: China Town.

I knew that saying "I hope somebody kills you in the most brutal way possible" would get me banned.

I also remember, either him or RB or one of yall saying something Similar to me about a month ago. But it was in a longer paragraph, saying they hope somebody killed me or I died a horrible agonizing death or something. Hell I posted it to Ming. so he should know what they said and who said it. But its funny how no one made a big deal when They said it. But since I said it. I get banned.

I tried making regular posts, even some funny jokes here and there. But marks would never get off my case. So finally I gave you people wut you wanted. To get rid of China Town. Now i'm here as Zyron Drazil. If you still want me gone, thats up to you. I was getting tired of the whole China faze myself, which is why I started acting like an [censored] again, sorry to offend any of you innocent Bystanders. But Marks just wouldn't give up on me. I don't know what the guys got against me. Even RB gave up on getting on my case after I started making sensible posts. But Marks just hacked away, like a one man crusade, as if it meant anything.

Sorry, I wont be an [censored] anymore. I just did it to make Marks feel better about himself, obviously it was an obligation of his. Anyway All credit to you. Ban me if you want. I don't care. I'm not here to be an [censored] anymore. That was China Town's persona, technically not my own.

You know, I have to agree with this. I don't think China deserved to get banned. He was an ass sometimes, but not the type of problem person that needs to get removed. He at least commented and tried to fit in, even though he did manage to dig himself a grave. Granted, the name-calling, conclusion-jumping and kind of flippant mentality weren't attractive, but I think he was manageable.

Just saying.
