I have heard that they are looking to cast Leonardo D'Caprio the piece of shit [censored] he is for tony starks in Ironman. This is ridiculous and totally a wrong choice.

Another mindless bashing of one of the best actors in Hollywood because of one movie that a bunch of little girls loved.

I think most DiCaprio-bashers are just jealous of his popularity, but "one of the best actors in Hollywood?"
RB, are you slippin'? /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Yes, one of the best actors in hollywood. RB and I don't agree on much, but DiCaprio has shown more range than Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp put together. And somehow it's okay to like those pretty boys. He was excellent in Basketball Diaries, nominated for an Oscar for Gilbert Grape, made the Beach watchable. The only real bad movie he's made was Critters 4.

I think everyone would be happier if DiCaprio just died after Titanic. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a decent actor and could care less about his past, but Titanic was such a big movie that it pretty much typecast him for life. No one wants to see Mark Hamill anymore unless he's doing Star Wars. No one looks at Schwartzeneger with out thinking of a Terminator.
Hayden Christensen? You won't be seeing him after Star Wars. Elijah Woods? He has a big hurdle to jump before he'll be cast in a movie again. Big, franchise movies always do that to actors and actresses.
As for Iron Man? Who cares. Comics are okay in the movies but they should return to their pages soon. Every damn comic has jumped on the bandwagon and I'm forecasting a lot of "so-so" the next few summers. I'm only looking forward to Punisher because it will be rated R to ensure the gritty realism of the comic.

yeah i guess you're right - i mean no-one heard of Harrison Ford after Star Wars! Maybe he was an exception to the rule?

DiCaprio does fine in the world not ruled by angry little boys and people who believe he is typecast. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

[/ QUOTE ] All of my favorite actors are pretty boys. Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio. Just because they are pretty doesn't mean they can't act. Didn't Jeff Wells have the exact opposite theory about actresses? I think he said that better actresses are the ones who are not incredibly pretty.
While i don't think that Leo is right for the part of Tony Stark, i can't call him a hack pretty boy actor. I rented Catch me if you Can this past weekend and quite enjoyed him in it. And i hated Titanic and Leo because of it, but he is a good actor, as noted above.

I'll admit the kid is good, but better than Depp? Depp is the stuff of future legends. The only person I can think of offhand to have more range is Gary Oldman.

Depp is a completely different kind of actor. I like him more than Leo but that does not take much away from DiCaprio.

 okay Has anyone seen top gun?, Has any one seen titanic?
okay now Im not going to disagree with Dicaprio's acting skills, but I'd rather see Tom Cruise behind that mask, i mean, Tony stark was a super hero, an alcoholic, a milionare, and he had black hair, and aftershave. I mean, Dicaprio, look at him, if you put him in that movie, your putting a black sheep in the middle of a forest full of wolves.
Depp is Pretty good for the part too.
lets let San Lee deside

I think if he can play Howard Hughes, he can do Tony Stark.

I honestly havent seen it yet. :)
Wow, resurrected from the grave... A little late for it to be an anniversary for this thread, but there's a Gold Star going out for the effort.
I don't see Leo as Tony Stark. If this isn't actually complete and utter specualtion, maybe I will be proven otherwise- I think he's got chops, but he just doesn't strike me as a billionaire industrialist/inventor with some serious personal demons. ;) It would be really cool, however, to see the Ironman up on the silver screen in super-duper CGI cinemascope wondervision...
my 2 cents.

Thank you, sir. With that one post you have managed to effectively destroy the last brain cells I had- they simply imploded under the crushing weight of your intellect. I have been reduced to a drooling baboon, flinging poo, and picking fleas off the cat. My only hope is that some day, someone somewhere, will find a cure. Either for my burntout synapses, or your obvious public education.
This was a pre-recorded message, to be played only in the event of catastrophic brain meltdown. And please remember to wear the enclosed poncho as the feces will be flying.

Why you say such bad thing about Hulk? Make Hulk sad. Hulk feel wounded and vulnerable. Hulk not in great emotional place right now.

Anyone ever notice that....OH MY GOD.... LET GO
Sorry folks I just hijacked this thread.
Anyone reading Orson Scot Cards Iron Man? Pretty darn good. Doesnt quite fit in with the rest of the Ult. Marvel universe, but we dont know much about Ult-Iron Man to begin with
SPOILERS
-Basically Tony Stark through a monkey biting his mom (not kidding) is given supier human abilities like regrowing lost appandeges and having his brain be super big and spread out throughout his body (like he is a big walking brain. THe downside, his 'dermis is supiersenstive so it feels like its on fire UNLESS its smeared in this body armour gel Starks Dad made. The gel started out as blue but I AM GUESSING is now clear.
So in one comic a Blue Bald Tony Stark kicks a guy in the crotch, causing his foot to fall off and he grows another.
Clearly this is what I think, when I think Iron Man. No really, I have never been happier with an Iron man title to this date. Pick it up, or I will make my monkeys turn your billonare babies blue and unbreakable
