My first post here on Poop Shoot. And it's a plug. Well, sort of. I am asking you to visit my site, but only because I'd like to get opinions/flames about it.

See, I'm in a band called The Banana Convention. We're a silly "bubblegum punk" band based out of Saginaw, MI. I want to get unbiased opinions on our stuff. What better place to get that then the Poop Shoot?

Go to http://www.thebananaconvention.com and check it out then either post on our own message board or back here telling us how much we suck or whatever. It'll be fun. No, really.

Sorry to spam. But I see it as more as "asking for constructive criticism on a project that like minded people might enjoy" than spamming.

I came into this post with the full understanding that people would be flaming and namecalling and such, but that creates controversy and interest. And people getting really upset and posting things that get censored on message boards always amuses me, so it's really win/win in my case.

I've been trying to get a gig south of Saginaw for a bit. It should happen soon. Keep an eye out.

Thought I'd point that out , since I'm not wasting the time it'll take to visit your site and/or flame you. The commercial will be over soon enough and we can return to our regurlarly scheduled games of Grab-ass and Yuck Fous'. Besides, some of us have to gear up for ACL this weekend.

Gosh-darned spammers. You took the anticipated flames like a real champ, though. Most people who post their commercials here either get indignant at our response or don't bother posting again, so they never even see the colorful abuse that we lovingly craft for each and every spammer that defiles our little virtual clubhouse. And that's not fair, is it?

Anyway, you guys sound like a fun band. I can imagine getting a fruity buzz on and digging your set. My favorite was probably Rock Belt Mamma. I know it probably doesn't matter what I think to you, because you've said you enjoy upsetting people, and as the Dude would say, that's cool, but in doing so, more importantly than disrespecting the regulars here, you disrespect the seriously cool guys who invented and do upkeep on the site. But something tells me you don't care what they think either. Whatever--says a lot about your character.

That, MonteCarl, is NOT cool. And even if you stick around (I'm doubting), your band will not be watched by me.

And for future reference: if you're ever going to hit it off, make it big, or just score cool gigs, you'll have to learn respect for those who would pass on word about your band. Learn how to behave professionally, and show the same respect you would like to have shown to you. What's so freakin' hard about that?
