Anyway....karma, I saw the Shaun of the Dead trailer this weekend! It looks so awesome! When I saw it, I was with a not so cool date (apparently she doesn't like zombies and a lot of other stuff), but I was about to bust a gut /forums/images/icons/grin.gif I can't wait for it to come out in theaters.

I just got a copy of the...

I mean, I know of a person who just got a copy of the DVD and menus are some of the best I've seen on a DVD yet. The Special Features don't work, but I am going to buy it when it comes out anyway. These guys have put a lot of creativity and love into this movie. It'll be in theaters in a couple weeks. Should be a lot of fun for the right audience.

Is it out in Britain on DVD now? Why so late in theaters here?

Now all I need is a date who actually likes funny violent zombie movies..

Hey, nothing to add to the conversation, but your avatar is cracking me up and I felt the need to share. It's great, you know, when he flips and spills, but the best part is when he tries to regain his composure as he gets up. He starts swinging the chucks and the momentum created by the figure eight pattern sends him reeling again. Man, that's just too fun to watch. You've been coming up with a bunch of visually funny stuff lately. I think you replied to a newbie recently and it was just a picture of that freak from the Goonies. Perfect. And then you had a picture of a cat with a melon-helmet on. I think those were you, no? You make-ah me raugh-a-prenty! Keep it up, mista. We now return you to the thread, already in progress.

Yeah, Droogan, it's a British movie so it's been out for quite a while there. The director with the two lead actors just finished doing a U.S. tour which I was fortunate enough to catch. They just had to set up distribution here. I don't think anyone was expecting the response to be as big as it has been.

Thanks, Tom. This stuff makes me laugh too hard not to share.

Yeah, that seems to happen a lot. I don't have digital cable, and I don't live in a major city, so unless it's a super box office hit over there, it seems most British stuff doesn't filter down. I think that sucks, by the way. But hey, I'll get my chance to see Shaun!

I was just thinking the same as Tom--where'd you get that little icon, man? I had a pretty good "raugh" myself! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I've just built up a large collection over time. The flipping karate guy, I found on gprime.net and edited with ImageReady. Here's the original:

Perhaps foreign films to get much promotion here in the US. Even a no.1 box office hit like Hero first opened about 2 years ago, I think.

it works in reverse too, we've still yet (as a country) to recieve hellboy and punisher. I've seen them though cause I'm a badass like that. Anyway karma, I think SOTD has aboiut 4 commentaries on it, I've still yet to buy it because I'm out of pocket and what with Star wars, battle royale 2, and some top games coming out soon, it's on my to get list.

Dude, you brightened my day. I know I'm weird, but it's been a long day. I just sat and watched that guy fall for several minutes. (I needed a good laugh myself.) /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

I'm not as web savvy as you seem to be, but I like finding and downloading stuff like that. Do you regularly visit other sites like the gprime.net? And, I've been trying to figure out how to edit .gif images. Is that ImageReady program free? Thanks, compadre.

gprime.net is probably the only site of its kind that I visit regularly. I just collect images while surfing, and I make quite a few of my own too. I've learned a lot from being involved in the fark.com Photoshop contests, if you're familiar with those. I'll try and send you a list of some good places to check out.

As far as ImageReady goes, it's a companion program that installs with Adobe Photoshop. So, if you were to buy it, it would be like $650. Luckily, these things can often be circumnavigated with a little know how. Or know who.
