You think James will make any difference at all? I almost hope he's the second coming of Ed O'Bannon instead of Mike or Kobe.

I think he'll make a difference in attendance, but Cleveland is not a team that is one good player away from contending. They will need a few years to devolop their talent before they can contend. I'm interested in seeing what Detroit will do with the 2nd overall pick. Do they go with Carmelo Anthony or do they trade down.

Yeah, the Cavs will still suck, but Detroit with that 2nd round pick could be trouble......

I am just happy that the Nuggets got the third pick in a three deep draft. That way they will not have to make a decision. They will just take either Carmelo or Darko whoever is left. The Nuggets are so bad at assessing draft picks, they took Raef Lafrentz as the 3rd pick in the draft for God's sake. So it is good that they will not have to pick.
As for Cleveland, I think, much like Kobe, it will take LBJ a couple of years to hit his stride. But, in 3-5 years, I think that they will be a contender.

Mark my words - James will be a HUGE bust. Anyone remember Kwame Brown?
I have never a player so overhyped in my life. And look at the fools at Nike...90 million? For never playing a single minute in the NBA. Pro basketball is a lot different than the AAU fellas.
He might be good in five years like Garnett, but he wont even come close to matching the hype.
News flash - the Mavs were called for a Technical even though the game is five hours away. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

and lest see is rafe not big in dalls and kwame did show flashes of greatness for a plyer of his age but lebron will take prolly 3 years to become star level but look at that lineup pg wagner sg davis sf james pf miles and c illgaskus or mourning if he will go for a large decrese in pay u could be looking at a possible 8th seed let me know what u think and detorit will take drako to help out wallace with the rebouding and denever will take melo b/c they will need him to try and get areans to come in and play but the best will be nick collison going to the knicks

He will be more like Shawn Kemp out of high school than Kobe. The Nike deal is absolute horseshit. If there is one constant in the universe it is that the Cavs cannot win a title. It's just not in the cards baby. Lebron will be trade bate in three years whether he's good or not, guarantee it. Also, all of the current stars of the NBA are salivating in anticipation of taking this little shit to school and they will. I read an interview today where they asked him how he thought the Cavs would do in '04. Lebron says," I don't know if we'll be a contender but I know we'll be better than we were last year." We? Last year? He must have a turd in his pocket because I didn't see him make a shot for the Cavs last year. I see alot of Kobe type arrogance here and we all know where Kobe is right now, home. Where he would have been the last three years too without Shaq. There is no Shaq in Cleveland. Trade bate.
