What's there to drool over? Those chicks look like men and have no tits at all! Some are ok I guess, by the majority are as I described.

I think that I'd be cool with the Olympics being on all year long. It is so much more entertaining then normal TV. I could even go for watching Olympic re-runs during the summer.

Give that man an award. And his own show. That idea certainly needs pitching to the networks. Well done JJ.

how about a reality show where they train up people into finely tuned athletes and they have to do various event, instead of being voted off though, they get judged and eliminated based upon perfomance.

It'll never work. There would be no cash coming in from all the morons on the phones voting people out.

Hey Oz and other non-Americans, this occured to me while watching a little of the games this weekend.
How does your country cover the Olympics? What's the coverage like?
Because here they show just highlights and not all of the games. For instance, fencing isn't covered at all. In between the highlights we get the human interest stories about the various athletes.
Just curious.

Our coverage is very good. It's on the BBC on either of their two channels throughout the day and cover not just the big sports or the ones just with British competitors but all sports going on that day get at least a highlight appearance.
Add to this BBC's digital coverage where you can pick any of 4 or 5 sports to view .
I've about decided that the suits at NBC Universal (who are broadcasting the Olympics here in the states) are programming the day to what they think women viewers want to see. Gymastics, swimming, volleyball; where the hell is boxing, baseball, sure they showed the US get thrashed by Puerto Rico, but where are the "manly" sports? Hell i twisted by in on the dial the other day, and they were showing horses trotting around. What the hell is that about?

I caught boating on MSNBC or Bravo the other night...Boating...BOATING. Who the hell wants to watch boating? Why the hell is boating an Olympic event?

There's a great campaign going on in Briatain at the moment to make Darts an Olympic sport and rumour has it that Ballroom Dancing has been trying for the last 3 Olympics to get in. Woe betide if London gets the 2012 games.

Well we only have 3 commercial free-to-air channels here and one of them is showing the Olympics 24/7. Because of the time difference between here and Athens, all the good finals etc are on between 1am - 5am our time. They do show them live at that time and then if we get a medal it gets repeated a bunch of times at normal times of the day. And theres a highlights kinda thing from about 7pm here. Other than that they usually just show bits and pieces of things. Like they showed the "highlights" of Puerto Rico killing the US Dream Team last night.
They tend to concentrate on events were Australia are competing and are in with a chance.

That and SBS, another non-commerical channel, has almost the same amount of the games on. They tend to show some events that channel 7 forget. Oh yeah...GO THORPIE!!!! 5 GOLD MEDALS!!!!!!!

[/ QUOTE ] You know, I'm in agreement with Lewis Black here. I am of the contention that oral sex should be an Olympic sport because:
1. Oral sex is far more difficult than curling and...
2. If you're any good at it, you deserve a medal!

Oh that is so true. You're either good at it or shit. And it's really hard to be good at it, trust me. But with practise, it can be very enjoyable. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
