PS2 no contest, but I wouldn't have gotten that angry over a game system. If you don't like it just don't buy it. It's that simple.

i own an xbox and i recently purchased the dvd playback kit and im fine with it. and dont get me wrong, i owned a PS2 until my friend broke it, yes he repaid me for it, but my point is i've owned both systems and both are enjoyable, and i am not obsessed and not a picky anal-retentive bastard such as yourself.why do i say this? because if somebody has the nerve to come on this forum and bitch about a game system,is probably the same kind of anal-retentive bastard who alphabetizes his games!

In psychology this is what we call projecting. Maybe all you need is a protein fix, little fella. I’ll tell you what, go take care of that. Then, once you’re good and sated, come back and maybe we can argue the technical merits of competing game consoles, just like learned folk. Otherwise, you won’t be long for this place.
Who cares? You can't beat the PC for games anyway. All consoles are too restricted by architecture.
And, go RB! Give this guy some stick, he seems to want it - and deserve it, most probably /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

X-Box, Better Graphics, Better games, 4 Controler Ports, A F*ing Hard Drive, Faster Loading times, Better Controler. Also HALO 2! and Halo 1 !
Oh yeah the X-Box is a better built machine
But PC Games beats any system.

Remeber when they said that beta max was techinically superior than vhs. i rest my case.
FanGirl

Beta is technically superior and all the professional grade tapes are beta. It just wasn't picked up by consumers. Every show broadcast for the History Channel, A&E, Spike! and all of the Disney Networks are broadcast from Beta tapes.
True, But those were not the consumer grade Beta tapes that battled it out with VHS (and yes those tapes did give better picture, but VHS allowed different record times on a single tape - SP, EP, etc.)
In fact there are several different formats of Beta tapes, the most common for field use being Beta SP, D-Beta (also called Digital Beta) is very common for Mastering programs, because it is such a great quality tape.
However, Beta now has a fight on its hands with the new DV formats (shoot tapes mostly) and other tape formats used for mastering programs (D-5 mostly) not to mention new generation of Tapeless cameras and DVD authoring that allows you to skip the tape layoff. It's an exciting time to be in the TV business, not only are there new "tape" tech. coming out, but the HD push is now in full effect. I'm working on some stuff shot HD right now, and it's gorgious, after Color Correction of course.

the trouble with this argument is that you'll find cube owners saying "we have zelda, we have resident evil, we have eternal darkness, we have twin snakes, mario, etc" and the ps2 people will be all like "We have Devil may cry, we have tekken and uh.. other stuff"
Now me? they all have Soul Calibur 2, beyond good and evil and prince of persia. I'm a happy bastard

I've always have been a huge fan of Legend of Zelda. Ocarina of Time is my favorite game ever. Anyway, you don't have to buy all that extra shit to play DVD's and CD's for PS2, like you do for Xbox. My favorite feature of Xbox is the fact that its so heavy that you can bludgeon someone to death with it . . . that is if you can lift it.

What extra shit do you have to buy for X-Box to play DVDs? My X-Box played DVDs straight out of the box. The only extra thing I bought was the Remote Control and the sensor that came with it. However, I don't have to use it, as I can navigate the screens using a game controller.
straight2video
08-05-2004, 09:22 PM
True, but you have to have the sensor in the xbox to play the dvd's...
ratm1966
08-05-2004, 09:40 PM
No, you just have to have the sensor to be able to use the remote control. I have played both DVDs and CDs in my X-box using the controller pad to navigate through them.

really? well I'm not sure if you have an earlier model or something, but if I just stick a DVD into my XBOX without the sensor it will say: please insert DVD playback sensor; so...

Ok, even thogh this thread is pretty pointless, I'm gonna give this one shot. Xbox has everything you need to "game" right out of the box. PS2 does not. Plain and simple. You have $150. Are you gonna buy the system that has an ethernet port, and hard drive built in for that price? Or are you going to purchase a machine that lacks those features, and spend another $150 to get what the Xbox has already? Sony has you right where they want you. Keep buying Sony's add-ons. It's what they expect from you. Too bad as consumers, you have not let Sony know what you expect from them. I own all 3 systems, and Xbox gives you the most bang for your buck. End of story.

That's a crappy ending. I would have put it more like this. PS2 has better games. Therefore providing more entertainment. Now THAT is an ending.

I own a PS2, but I wish I had picked up an Xbox instead. But if the network adapter or hard drive don't convince you that the Xbox is the better system then ask yourself this: Which console would Charles Xavier choose? I rest my case..er..end of story...I mean.....G'nip G'nop!

I dunno man, I'm not big on multiplayer gaming, as a kid I was always playing the games that weren't 2 player, and since then I've always considered my gaming to be primairly antisocial with the occasional 2 or more player bouts.

If the question was, which makes a better weapon then I would vote Xbox for sure. But I must say, Xbox doesn't have many RPG's to offer, and a vast majority of the games I play are RPG.

x-box is sort of like an old woman driving a ferrari. the capabilities are endless. its just how it's being used. they are not making games that use all the processing power. it has potential staying power if they start making hits. like this one right here:

good point, also are you a New Poster on this board not quoting Jay and Silent Bob or just being an Idiot? Then there might be a heaven after all. Welcome to the board and NEVER speak of Jay and Bob expect in a passing unimportant manner. Also when it comes to Star Wars stay away from Razorback and never make eye contact (he bit someones ear off once)

Your name implies that I can't be an evil genius because you are already the evil genius. Not sure how I feel about that. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif Of course, Bill Gates will be bouncing checks long before I ever refer to myself as any kind of "genius".

I prefer Timesplitters to Halo any day. Halo you can just sit somewhere and snipe people. Where's the challenge(or fun) in that. Although I now can't stand Timesplitters after having to sit for hours upon hours of watching Josh play it. But I never did like Halo.
