Dude, he's been here longer then you.
The trailers have just started in the cinemas in the UK, and I have to agree, it looks worse than hopeless. Another film to be at the pub for. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

The problem with you is...your stupid, but other than that you didnt put what you didnt like about the movie, you just said it was bad and that you were angry when it ended.
Next post put a *SPOILER* warning and going into detail
Also I am sick of everyone being so hung up on how M. Night's movies end. Its as if all that matters to some people are the last 15 minutes or so of the movie. I almost wish they could stop the movie mid-way through Poll the Audience to see how they liked it: the results would be more than half would like it. THen after the movie ended poll everyone agian, and MAGICALLY everyone would say they hated the movie.
ALSO I HAVE BEEN HERE LONGER THAN ALL YOU SOB's I was on the First board before it got shut down.
Also his mother isnt a whore, you wouldnt kick his ass, and THe Village didnt suck, you do

I liked the movie too. I won't go into detail here, because I did in the "The Village" thread in the columns section.

Well since that's off-topic, I'll say here that I hated it. I didn't enjoy it at the beginning, the middle, or the end. I thought it was dull. Very little happened to make me actually care about anyone when something might happen, and since I saw the ending coming a mile away, I had a feeling of "get on with it" throughout. It didn't have any kind of entertainment for those who knew what the deal was, so I doubt repeat viewings will be enjoyable for those who did like it.

But did you like Signs?
That's just so I can compare it to other Shamylan movies. I haven't seen it and now I don't think I want to.

I was okay with Signs, but not impressed. It didn't raise anger within me. I felt like even though that ending was also disappointing, the rest of the movie had something to offer. Here I felt he was trying the whole time to tease you about what you didn't know. Also, here you didn't know because he was clearly leaving out key details (almost flat out pointing out "clue!") instead of misdirecting you away from details. It was lazy.

[/ QUOTE ]On the issue of seniority, me, RB, and Affleckie are all mainstays from the old board and you shall all bow before us.
As for THE VILLIAGE, I really liked it. Never jumped on the signs bandwagon either, it didn't look like much from the previews, but was so horribly overhyped by the time I saw it that it didn't have a chance of living up, although I still think it was quite good.
A lot of people apparently didn't care for the big twist at the end. I actually saw it comming, believe it or not, through an odd series of circumstances, so that might contribute to my favorable opinion. I just really loved the acting and the atmosphere. THE VILLIAGE has an ensamble cast without a weak link in the chain that I could practically watch read the phone book. It also pulls off a unique visual style like few films truly do, a sophisticate's eye candy in that regard. The story has an measured pace and satisfied any nagging questions, but for me it was mostly there to showcase all the stuff I liked better. It's a movie I really enjoyed, but at the same time not one I'd necessarily reccomend, since I realize I may be in the minority. My friend who saw it with me said "it's a good movie, but it sucks," and if that makes any sense it may be the best capsule review of it I have for you.

I was reffering to those who had posted before me
But I am sick of the Village backlash, I think people wanted a huge twist ending instead of the Easy to See Ending. How many times did they hint at what was going to happen
SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT
Like the giant Green house they had? or the no explantion for how they got there in the first place?

It bugged me because his whole structure seems to be about building up to a payoff at the end, surprise on no, and I didn't enjoy the journey to the end.
Also, I've been around since board v.1 as well. I just don't have post totals. Actually, I'm not sure Post makes Total. It might be General Mills.

I found this quote about "The Village" and it made me laugh:

M. Night Shyamalan has nothing to say, but he's going to keep right on saying it until people make him stop.
