I don't have too much to report, actually. It was a pretty uneventful first day "on the job" at the con. Mostly, I stayed at the IDW booth and met some people, got introduced to other people and got a chance to see site folks like Scott Tipton and Marc Mason. Said hey to Fangirl, too, but beyond that, I didn't get much of a chance to roam.
I DID see that LucasFilms had a full-size X-Wing Fighter in their 10,000-square foot booth. Man, it's huge. And cool as hell.
I'll hopefully get a chance to get around before too many people get into the place in the morning and get a bunch of pictures for the column this Monday.
Mostly, I noticed that some people who didn't have much time to bother with me last year are now much nicer to me...weird how a little change in status affects things like that.
More later, but probably not tomorrow. I'll be there all day and then managed to finagle my way into a late private screening of SKY CAPTAIN. Of course, we're not supposed to review it for a while but that doesn't mean I can't give with some details in this space as soon as I have some time.
