This is just a thread where you can list your favorite band or bands. Mine are Led Zeppelin and Rage Against the Machine.

I'm surprised you didn't say Evil Dead as you've used it in every single one of your other posts. /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif

It's really difficult to say anyone but the Beatles.
Love 'em or hate 'em, there's not a lot they didn't influence.

I think that "best" band just doesn't work. It is too subjective. Somebody who has always lived in Alabama will, I'm pretty sure, give you a different answer than someone who has spent their whole life living in Boston which will probably be different than somebody who grew up in Denver, John. Age of course comes in to play, also.

Having said that, the best band ever is either Pearl Jam, or Alice in Chains, depending on the day of the week.

See..."best" band is even subjective when I'm arguing with myself.

I'm not basing this on personal likes or dislikes. I'm basing what I said on what pretty much every musician I've ever seen interviewed on the subject has had to say. It doesn't matter if it's metal or rap, they all give mad props to the lads from Liverpool.
I found VH1's 100 Greatest Albums show very interesting. Nearly one-tenth (9 out of the top 100) albums, including #1, were Beatles' albums. This wasn't some popularity contest, either. This was based on opinions from musicians and rock critics.
Beatles...uber alles! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

I would have to agree with you on Ben Folds Five. They rock! It's such a shame that they split, they could have done some great stuff.
Me and a couple of friends play "Selfless, Cold and Composed" and "Missing the War" in the school Talent Quest last year. That was awesome! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

i'll get you for this *shakes fist*. Besides, all their cover songs are the worst ones in my opinion. Their best songs are the original ones. Like Stairway to Heaven, Battle of Evermore, Over the Hills and Far Away, Stairway to Heaven, Black Dog, Going to California, Immigrant Song, Dancing Days, STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN! I think my point has been made.

Asteban - ZZ Top?? I've got to admit, ZZ Top are rather cool. Legs, Pin Cushion, Viva Las Vasgas, Planet of Women...they're all classics. They pack out stadium gigs all over the US, even though they have to be way past retirement age /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif They would have to be considered.

But Eric Clapton? Mr Bland himself? I think not... and anyway 'He' is not a band and is therefore excluded on a technicality /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

I respect your love for Manilow(just kidding . . . LOSER!). But you really can't compare the two, Led Zeppelin - Rock, Barry Manilow, . . . well I don't know what exactly that is. Would you call it easy listening? It's like comparing apples and Jesus.

Eric Clapton is definately rock. Layla, Cocaine, After Midnight. Its a bluesy kind of rock, but it IS rock.

No it's not. Well it probably is that too but Cream were Eric Clapton's old band.
And you have got to hear Dream Theater. They are awesome. If you want to hear then, go and find the "Metroplis 2:Scenes from a Memory" cd. It should be cheap but well worth it.

Ubik is the title of a book by Philip K Dick. V good book. It's just as random as 'Mighty Wingman', Mighty Wingman /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

I liked it, so I used it - Use it all the time in this virtual world we call the internet.
