...me and Tipton are going. I don't mention this to name-drop or anything but just because I'm excited as hell about seeing this movie. Less so about Anchorman tomorrow, but I gotta see the screenings in L.A. while I still can (more on that later).

Recap later tonight.

A friend of mine, who writes for a teeth-grit mag here in NYC, said this was the Empire Strikes Back of comicbook movies.

Jason, you want name-dropping? Here's some name-dropping. I sat right next to Young MC tonight. That's right, "Bust a Move." (If any of you don't know who Young MC is...then I'm old) Michael Dequina brought Young MC to the flick, so we got to talk to him about comics and baseball cards and what-not for about an hour before the movie. Nice guy.

As to the movie...the Empire Strikes Back of comic movies? Well, only if you mean that in the way that this is the best, most kick-ass, thrilling comic book movie I've ever seen the same way that Empire was the best of all the SW flicks.

Holy shit, what a movie. Everything about it was awesome. Someone e-mailed me before and said Raimi sucks because he doesn't understand the character? I can't think there's anyone would do more justice to these characters than Raimi. The script was much stronger, funnier, the action scenes were just frickin' amazing -- wait until you see the train scene -- the music was better, the CGI was much better, Doc Ock was a gerat villain and Harry Osborne was...well, just wait until you see it.

Manoman, am I impressed. Awesome. Omaru, you are SO bummed you have to wait a month for this. It's worth a plane ticket over here to see it earlier than that.

My problem with the last movie was that there wasn't enough of comicbook Spidey. I need more shit-talking. I need more Spidey in swinging action. So, I am hoping that this movie gives it to me. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Just wait until you see the amazing fight scenes with Ock...holy crap. If those don't satiate your need for some good webbin' and fightin', well, it's back to The Matrix for you.

I don't want to spoil anything but...yes. But I'm still convinved the villain in the next movie will be the Man-Wolf.

This might surprise you... but I don't care that much about the Matrix series. I just liked the last two movies.

I care more about the third Harry Potter movie, or the entire Star Wars series. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Patience is a virtue, and we must be virtuous. Don't worry Chris, I was only joking, u aint a b-word. I just have to avoid the upcoming spoiler laden threads.

Dang, Chris. That's cool. The one-and-only time I ever rapped in public, was with a few lines from "Bust A Move". (God, I miss being in a band.)

As for Spidey, It seems that everyone who has seen this film has been blown away. I remember practically quivering with delight, the first time I saw X2. Looks like Spidey 2 may make my head explode. (Hey, can we get an "exploding head" instant graemlin?)

Oh I thought he meant that puzzle "bust a move" game with the shooting bubbles at other bubbles to match them and clear them.

Hell, I shoulda dropped it years ago...

Gotta agree with Ryall here. SPIDEY 2 was frickin' unbelievable. And sure, the visuals are stunning and ground-breaking, but it's the story and the characters that wins over the audience, and here's where Sam Raimi really delivers. Columbia should keep offering Raimi the moon to make these things, because I can't imagine anyone else having such a perfect understanding of what makes Spidey (and more important, what makes Peter Parker) tick. I wouldn't change a note, not a word, not a moment. I'm just pissed I have to wait until next week to see it again.

And yeah, Young MC is a hell of a nice guy.

The amount of time it took me to realize what that comment was in reference to made that joke so worthwhile. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

I'm sorry to have to say this, but I think I will have to retire to my room, surrounded by Spider-Man comics, Spider-Man shirts, Spider-Man action figures, etc.....and hate you at least a little till next week.

You people dissapoint me. Young MC...at a movie...and you go with "On a mission" and "Poindexter"? Sad. Why not,

"New movies showin', so you're goin'
Couldn't care less about the five you're blowin'
Theatre gets dark just to start the show
When you spot a fine woman sittin' in your row
She's dressed in yellow, she says hello,
Come sit next to me you fine fellow."

Shame on you guys...but kickass for Chris and Tipton for getting to meet Young MC.

I for one am not jealous. I know I can stand to wait until Wednesday to see Spider-Man 2.

[gets ready to run]

Then I'll see if it holds up as well the third time as it did the second.

ZOOM!
