[/ QUOTE ] Is he saying that the site is mad good, or is he saying that the site is mad, and I am a good dog? By the way is it not hip to spell it dogg any more? You the man now, dogg.

There you go, being clever again.

I thought it was mate. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm too British.

jjcourtright
05-14-2003, 01:02 PM
I don't think that mate even appears in the hiphoptionary. It definitely is not commonly used on the streets, yo.

Tongue
05-14-2003, 01:46 PM
What about Geezer? It's still british but it's also 'street'. Word up, Bro

Dave
05-14-2003, 05:35 PM
Nope geezer is not used in the streets, or maybe it is hell i dont know.

Tongue
05-14-2003, 07:45 PM
Well it's 'street' in Britain. Well London anyway. East End of London at least. Ok only if you are in a Ray Winstone movie. I think.

Omaru
05-14-2003, 09:05 PM
I use it sometimes too, but in the abbrieviated sense of "geez"
so like when I go to me mates house I says "easy geez"

Tongue
05-14-2003, 09:38 PM
Ok i stand corrected. Ray Winstone and Omaru.

Zens_7s

I think it is time for Razorback to come along and "out" us on our lack of true street knowledge, just like Vanilla Ice.

Cause shit dawg, this thread be tight and all, but it ain't in the right section ya see? The off-topic section is tight with mad hot postins' on the PGA tour and sick shit. Dis whack-ass mofo be settin his stuff in the wrong area. I am heading to represent my peoples. (Note: I am not sure what that all means, but the hiphoptionary says that sick=really good and tight=regular good)

What the hell was this thread about in the beginning?

Dave
05-15-2003, 12:36 AM
like i know what peeps are sayin on the streets... I'm from Alabama for christ sake, i gots nothing nothing

Peeps are on the street talking!?!?!?! That's a sign of the Apocalypse! The second coming of Easter candy, marshmallow chickies spewing their diatribes from every corner! Chicken Little, High in Calories! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

I come from an unhip neighborhood and feel I have reacted poorly and prematurely. Like on prom night.

Dave
05-15-2003, 02:12 PM
Once again you really brought it, dogg! You just keep postin and doin' your thing, without you this contest wouldn't be the same, you are the American Idol.

Incedentally, What is a geezer?

Tongue
05-15-2003, 03:15 PM
Is being a dogg a good thing? I watch Rikki Lake and they are always calling guys doggs and should be 'kicked to the curb'. Which by the way is a crime and animal rights guys should look into it. But I also here people calling others doggs in a fdriendly way. Or is that the pre-mentioned Dawg? I'm from Briain where dogs are unattractive women so help me out here.

jjcourtright
05-15-2003, 03:28 PM
According to the hiphoptionary:
dog - a bad man; a man who treats women unfavorably
dogg- a buddy; a good friend; a "homie"; also see dawg

Tongue
05-15-2003, 03:32 PM
Right so we have got the spelling sorted but I guess the pronouncement is the same .So who do you tell if people are calling u a bad person or a friend?

jjcourtright
05-15-2003, 03:55 PM
You have to listen to the context:
Youse a dog. - bad
What up dogg? - good

Tongue
05-15-2003, 04:01 PM
What about 'He's a dogg/dog' ???

jjcourtright
05-15-2003, 04:28 PM
You're just not getting it. It would be "He's a dog." If you wanted to say that he is a dogg, you would say "That's my dogg."

Tongue
05-15-2003, 04:31 PM
I know I'm not getting it . i'm British we don't speak like that.

jjcourtright
05-15-2003, 04:34 PM
Just try it. Next time you see one of your "geezer" buddies, say "What up, dogg", or "There's my dogg." And then, later when you are watching Rikki Lake say, "Oh man, he is such a dog." Your friends will think you are the coolest and may go so far as to say "You the man now, dogg."

Tongue
05-15-2003, 04:38 PM
Or they may just beat the sh1t outta me for forgetting my 'roots'.

I think it all depends on if you're a cat person or a dog person. I think some of the negative connotation comes from previously calling unattractive girls dogs. I think this comes from the wingman concept, where guys take on a dogfight for a friend's booty benefit. Or something. I've taken to calling people lemur. Take it as they will.

I use artichoke as a term of endearment nowadays. I've never seen an artichoke. Go figure.

Why is it we used to call each other "cat" and now call each other "dog"? Just a thought, ostrich.

Mayb CatDog will be next. Hmmmm, that would make a cool cartoon. A cat and dog joined together.

Oh wait, it already is.

Not to be an anus, but people still call other people "Cat." I hear it all the time from hip-hop artists. For some reason "Dog" is like a street term and "Cat" is like a hipster term.

[Mutters to self] what an anus...

I thought "Cat" was what people called each other in the forties.

ratm1966
07-20-2003, 07:08 PM
Nah it was more a 60's and early 70's term. Like....Wow! That cat is far out man.

DangerSeeker

It seems to work in 30-40 year cycles, hence before "cat" we had "Of Mice & Men."

"I would be embarrased to post a site like that... Its just so horrible.. almost as horrible as moviepoopshoot.com"

Wow, your biting wit is astounding. At least you're aware there IS a site, which is better than about half the people here. But you still suck.

I have to agree with you on that web page being bad. But really only because the background is too busy and makes it difficult to see the words.

As far as MoviePoopShoot goes, I have to disagree with you there. Afterall, without this site, how would we be able to slam dickheads like you.

yes, the site is pretty bad, and i'm gonna respond with one thing. i dont care who you are. if you're gonna start a site, make it about movies, video games all that [censored].
