Hello everyone!
I just found out about the new film coming out about Metallica called "Some Kind of Monster". It looks really good! Evidently, it focuses on the band's trials and conflicts, and not really about their music. You can check out the e-card here to find out more information and view the trailer. Check it out!

Ah, this troubled youth culture of late. So adorable. So ripe for the locking away. Now where'd I put that muzzle...
Now, now. I won't be too hasty. Not gone are my memories of huffing Nutter Butter and forgetting how to relate to the world staring me in my zit-riddled face.
Thought, I can't say I ever tried to take a girl on a date and tried to wax Butterscoth Politics before I even introduced myself! There is a first base, a second base, a third, and home. You, my friend, have all but entered the ballpark. Why not sit, relax, enjoy a weiner and some peanuts before you get all hasty and try to bum-rush the plate?
If you're still confused, I have office hours around the clock. We can schedule a couch session anytime and I'd be happy to prepare my prescription pad.
Until then, take a breather and read the sign:

I saw it a few weeks ago and was pretty impressed by it. It did the impossible--made Lars look like the most likable member of the band. A documentary about an aging band that results in the singer heading to rehab, a "relationship coach" being brought in and a reunion with original guitarist Dave Mustaine? Yeah, it's pretty damned captivating, especially the bit with Mustaine. He pretty much says that all his time with Megadeth was nothing but a wasted effort to show up Metallica.
I have a whole long review of it set for July 5, the Monday before it opens, but yeah, it's totally worth a look if you've ever been a fan of the band or even just want to watch band politics get in the way of creativity.

It was just sad--he was almost in tears, telling Lars that he has no idea how much they wrecked his life (I know they talked shit about him after, but the destructive drinking that got him kicked out of the band can't all be put on them). I mean, these guys were all 20 or so when this stuff happened, and he moved on and sold 15 million records with Megadeth and was pretty damned popular for a time in the late '80s/early '90s, so to hear him talk about it all like it was for nothing, was just a big waste of time...sad.
For a time, stuff like Peace Sells..., Rust in Peace and Countdown to Extinction were as exciting as anything Metallica was doing at the time. Guess there's no substitute for mainstream acceptance and millions of dollars, though.

Now I have to see this. It is surprising to hear that Dave said all that. I know that he was bitter and promised that Megadeth would be bigger than Metallica (never happened of course) but for him to think that everything he did was for nothing is sad. The guy wrote some great songs with Metallica and Megadeth.
Was he drunk?

Hey guys, I know it's something I'm doing wrong, but I clicked the link, and it opened, but it said the page couldn't be found. Know what's wrong? Thanks.
