My question is, why is there a season 2 of this crap? Clerks was gone after 6 episodes, Clone High after 1 season, Mission Hill, Undergrads, 1 season, GvsE... I can't remember how long that was on but it kicked ass. Why are they making a bloody Simple Life 2? So Paris Hilton is slowly making her way across the country, big deal! We didn't need a TV series to know that.

It was pretty funny how she didn't know what Walmart was though. But for the most part, sadly a good enough portion of America liked this show. Why most didn't there where enough who did for them to do a second season.

This reality show is just like all of the others in that there are enough friggin' morons out there to watch it for them to make money off of it.

Don't remind me of this show. It's proof of how dumb America is becoming. Now Viva la Bam, another celebration of stupidity, well... that's completely different, damnit!!

Count yourself lucky. We are on Big Brother 5. I'm on suicide watch at the local hospital.

Why is this show popular? In Entertainment Weekly, they say that the roadtrip takes place in the South just to see the girls in bikinis. I will probably tune in for an episode or two for this fact alone.

I had a good laugh out loud moment at Paris Hilton the other day. She was interviewing Jake Gyllenhaal before the MTV awards thingie. Her question to him was "What is your favorite scary movie." His reply "Evil Dead" In perfect dumb cheerleader speak she says "[Deadpan voice] Oh, I have never heard of it."
Jake goes on a tries to explain that it is directed by Sam Rami. He then can tell that this didn't do the trick, so he ties Sam to Spiderman thinking by then she would figure it out. You could just tell he was thinking, "God, you are just not bright, are you?"

I used to see these bumper stickers on the road when I was little that said, "kill your television" and such. I used to think TV was alright, but I was never the kind that would watch this type of crap.
Now, I pretty much feel the way those people do with the bumper sticker. I have a TV so I can rent movies, watch The Simpsons and Southpark.
Most TV is so stupid--I've never been a big reader, but I'm starting to change. The sad thing is that the only other people I can identify with (who choose to read and do other constructive things with their time) are people like my college professors. People don't read anymore. Reminds me of the movie Wonder Boys. I am starting to set goals for myself reading-wise to make myself smarter, and in November there is a novel writing contest. I'm strongly considering doing that too.
Just out of curiosity, does anybody else feel like most of America is mentally challenged for wasting their time on TV? I feel so isolated for not liking these stupid sitcoms and actually going to the library from time to time. It seems to me that it's not such a good thing, but maybe it's all in my head. /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

You are not alone, Droog. Besides the NBA Finals, I haven't watched TV in at least two months. Probably more. Besides a handful of shows, it all seems like brainrot. I was reading quite a bit for a while there, but that has slowed down too. My time has been spent helping a lot of different people do a lot of different things.
I make up for it in DVD's and internet pr0n though. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
