just out of interest, how many of you guys have seen this film? i thought it rocked hard and is well up there with my favourite movies. what are your opinions?

I've seen it almost as much as Raising Arizona, which I once watched 3 times in one day. The first time I saw it, I was actually expecting a little something different, and it took some time to get into it because of my preconceptions. After that, it gets better with every viewing. I pretty much laugh before, during, and after every good bit.

So in short, I concur!

I've watched The Big Lebowski at least 2-dozen times. Twice in the theater. IMHO, it's the most quotable movie ever, and it's hard to stop once you've started.

Next time you're in public, say something like "Over the line!"
"Hey, man, there's a beverage here."
"Leeeeads."
"Across this line, YOU DO NOT....also, Dude, Chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian American, please"

...and so on. Guaranteed you will make new friends.

I love this movie more each time I see it. The dude abides, man.

I always just like bellowing "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" in my best John Goodman voice.

And saying "Ve are nihilists," just because it makes me laugh.

Plus "the dude abides" is genius in its simplicity. And it kick-started me on a quest to find the perfect rug to tie my whole room together.

Never could quite get into the White Russians, but I tried. Lord, how I tried.

How odd! I say "ve believe in noshing, Lebowski" just because it makes me laugh.

I can't get down with White Russians all the time like the Dude, but every now and again a White Russian night is quite nice...especially now that I got a mustache for it to cling to.
