I've been waiting for a Bill Gates biopic. Anti-Trust sucked.

Seriously, that's some awesome makeup, and if anyone can do this movie right it will be DelToro.

Wow, I have feel absolutely no excitement from that picture. This looks like its gonna be another bad comic book adaptation. From the ones ive seen, spider man xmen, and x2, they have great special effects and really cool fight seens, but the plot leaves something to be desired. These plots were very basic, unimagintive, and often unfulfilling. With the amount of money spent on these movies, you'd think they'd could spend a little more on a decent script.

I'm not too certain about that. Guillermo Del Toro is a really bitchin' director, and supposedly has a lot of love for the character. My daddy always used to say, "You can't judge a comic book film adaptation by one picture of it's star in full costume and make-up." Just a saying he used to throw around. My dad's a weird guy.

I think the picture rocks, personally--what else could anyone want in a Hellboy pic? It's also just the first one--once they start showing the shadowy sets, and the Right Hand of Doom, it should silence any critics.

HOLY SHIT!
Michael Ironsides is playing Hell Boy!?
It's great to see older actors do action flicks...
Oh... that's Benicio...
Nice pic though, I Like that crazy looking, modified Webley he's sporting. Good looking Make-up too!

That pic does indeed rock. If you tool around the Hellboy site, you can see some of Mignola's set/costume design art, with commentary from Benicio and Mike, including that of one Abe Sapian. Cant wait to see that actual costume.

Wow, can anyone say anything other than, "This picture is bitchin!" Why is it so bitchin? I personally think this picture sucks. Now, I'll admit that I am not at all familar with Hellboy, but I think I can still make some valid points. First what are those things on the top of his head? I'm assuming they're cut off horns, but they might as well be dried up cookies painted red and ducked taped to the top of his head. They're completely oversized to even look remotely real. Second the red paint is just too much. In fact that is exactly what it looks like, globs of red paint smeared on there to make the actor resemble some kind of "demon" when it actually makes him look like a giant red penis. Now some of you may agrue that the director is just trying to stay true to the comic book character, which is fine, but when the end result is just a really f*cked up looking clown, then maybe some consessions need to be made. I think it would have been cooler if the horns were a little smaller and looked more natural, and have them look like they're acutally coming out of his head instead of being pasted on with some crazy glue. Maybe they could of had some blood dripping off from where they were cut off. I think they should also keep the natural skin tone, but give it a reddish tint, like a drunken irishmen. Then they should put contacts in his eye so it looks like he has one giant pupil, that would be feaky.

It looks just like the comics. You should read them, to get a better understanding of what you're critiquing in-depth.

And why would the horns have blood dripping off of them? They (A) are horns and (B) have healed.

You say you should still be able to make valid points, despite having absolutely no idea what you are talking about? In what world? Everyone likes the picture because we are fans of the character, and as such are glad they got the look right as designed by the creator who gave us the books we are fans of. Should they do the things you in your "wisened" opinion you think they should, the fans would be outraged. "Who is this guy, thinking he can improve something that's already great?" Don't be that guy. It leads not to friendships.

First of all, I'm not out to create friends, rather I'm out to create enemies. Why, because I hate everyone, and I like to insinuate arguments. Secondly, you say it would anger fans, but who cares. If the end result is a product that deviates from the comic character, but is superior to one that remains true, I think the fans will intially be angery, but then will be thankful to the director who was couragouss enough to do something so bold. Maybe if you, and people like you, grew some balls and stopped brown-nosing everything that comes out of Hollywood, then maybe we'd begin to see some actually good movies.

The horns would have blood dripping off them because it'd look cool, damnit!!

Wait, Wait, and Wait. You accuse us of being Hollywood brown-nosers, and yet you defend a director's right to trash the original works in the first place, "because it'd [sic] look cool, damnit [sic]!!" You are perfect for Hollywood, because you egotistically believe you could improve on something you know nothing about.

The same type of person would look at the statue of David and say "ya know, I think we should put a longer dick on him because people would ‘intially [sic] be angery [sic]' but eventually will love me because I am 'couragouss [sic] enough to do something so bold.'"

You are correct; you are not out to create friends. If I had to type [sic] one more time because you cannot use spell check I would strangle you with my bare blood dripping hands, because it would look cool, dammit!

Dripping horns would look cool? For an entire movie? You stupid.

Monkeyspanker you ignorant slut. Read the comic. How can you make such comments without knowing wth you're talking about? Also, how can you say what fans of Hellboy would or would not like in the movie version?

I have never seen the Hellboy comics so I go into this as blind as Monkeyspanker. I have to agree with him in that the horns do look like just stuck on circles, however , this is for a movie poster, how it'd look in the film itself is different. As for everything else this moron says I disagree entirely firstly a horn would not bleed as it is made of bone and/or hair and secondly why would completely changing an original piece of work be a show that you have balls? How happy would Matrix fans be if for the 3rd one Neo was played by Whoopi Goldberg in a clown costume and has to give out candy floss to small children before the world collapses in on itself due to the incessant crying of candyfloss deficient kids?

Interesting. Very interesting. Okay, I like what I’m hearing. Run what you’ve got so far by Whoopi’s people and see if she bites. I see Don Knotts playing the role of Agent Smith, but let me know if you already have someone in mind. I think we’ve got a winner here. Run with it!

Well Agent Smith will obviously have a different role to play in this new movie. I envision him as a kind of sidekick/traitor like Dudley Moore in Santa Clause the Movie. I was thinking of Tori Spelling in this role.
